Galos UK in East Hertfordshire

Just had the best meal. Chicken was really juicy and the homemade chicken gravy was really good! Haven’t been there in ages, glad I’ve rediscovered it!

Overall I really love Galos and it is my go to takeaway in Hertford, of course it is an independent business too which is great. The food is all generally very nice and I have always found the staff to be pleasant. I order around once a week.The only constructive criticism I have, is the food can be inconsistent in terms of quality. As an example, I will order the chicken caesar salad around once a week. One week it is delicious, 10/10, the chicken is generous, the sauce is coated all over and there is lots of parmesan but then the other week all the salad is dry (Sauce just dumped on top, not mixed in), the chicken is rationed and tastes very dry and there is little to no parmesan.I am unsure if it is down to the different chefs that work there or due to the fact sometimes it is busier than others and you have to get orders out but I strongly believe the negative reviews you get is due to the fact it is someone's first order and they ordered it on one of your "off" days. It's also a shame because sometimes I order it and just have to accept some days the food isn't that great and it sort of feels like part and parcel of ordering from you.Overall I love you but I just think the consistency could be improved!

Food is always amazing, I go for lunch most Wednesdays, staff are friendly and it is fantastic value for money, have recommended to loads of friends and family.I think the people giving this place a 1 star, probably do to every restaurant they visit, so take no notice, I cannot fault galos!

Firstly, not happy at being charged 40p service charge!!Not sure what that is for when I collected it.The food was reasonably tasty, albeit lukewarm.I ordered a Pig and Chicken box- no coleslaw, minimal sauce on the meat and chips instead of sautéed potatoes.I rarely eat chips so that was disappointing.It is very hit and miss I find.

I've repeatedly had bad experiences ordering from Gallos. Whether its excessively late deliveries, missing items or rude customer experience... there rarely seems to be a seamless experience. Tonight we were randomly asked for a 30% deposit on our order which I've never had from any takeaway, and then an item was forgotten on the delivery. The food's nice but the customer experience is terrible.

Worst blue cheese sauce, or was simple given then wrong product. If you make it yourself you add to much mayo, if you buy it, have you even bothered to try it. Either way, I will not order from here again or recommend

Pretty poor quality. Ordered a "tiger box" and a chicken baguette. The baguette had bits of cartilage in it. The Tiger box was quite lacklustre; Quarter chicken and some chips and coleslaw, did not taste or look as described in the menu. Safe to say we won't be ordering from there again.

Ideally would give it 2.5, food is good but small portions for the price, I paid £8.95 for a small portion of chips, small portion of mixed meat and about a quarter corn on the cob.Very friendly and polite service and with a couple small changes to portions id be a regular

Food is fantastic but they frequently close early or just outright refuse to answer the phone.Last time I called it took - no joke - 23 calls for me to get a response. Staggering.If they're that busy, you'd think they'd hire someone to answer the phone so they could accommodate the extra business.It's a shame. I'd order a couple times a week if they just picked up the phone or weren't shut at 8pm on a Thursday night.

First time ordering takeaway from here tonight, and I must sayAbsolutely amazing amazing pulled pork baguette! Wow. And huge too. Probably the best baguette I've ever had.Also what topped it off and made the mealPerfect was the brownies we had! I added my own vanilla ice cream to them and they were just heaven! A nice crust on the outside but so so soft and squishy on the inside! Brownie heaven! Thank you galos! WillDefinitely be ordering again.
