Greene King have installed new landlords who are hell bent on destroying a much loved village pub. These people have made it clear to the locals that we are not welcome. The bar staff are lovely but have been told not to socialise with us locals, which I think is disgusting and borders on facism, after all you work in a pub to be sociable and patrons return because they like the staff etc. My parents used to drink in this pub when the Dinnings ran it, and I am so disappointed in who they now have "running" it. Although the decor is beautiful,the wrong people are in charge. Very sad days indeed.

Great Mothers Day Sunday Roast with my son and family. Food very tasty. Very nice thoughtful staff. New management. Lovely relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Trying their lunchtime menues next. Wishing them all the very best for the future.

food was alright. We went for a roast but wasn't as nice as we had hoped for. Could really do with a big make over inside. Not really somewhere I would take my kids.

Outside drinking only due to the C19 pandemic. Friendly Yorkshire service just like the broadband,! Watton at Stone is a great village and definitely worth a walk around.

Warm welcome, good lunch time menu, didn't want to leave. Lovely atmosphere can't wait to go back. Perfect country pub. A hidden gem. First time visit, won't be the last. Jackie and her staff made us all so very welcome.

We ate there Sunday 4 November 2018 because we couldn't get into two other local pubs. l would expect a much higher standard of Sunday roast for £15. We so want this local pub to succeed but there is a reason why this place is always empty. The beef was so chewy that it was difficult to cut with a steak knife and the potatoes were not fantastic either. Gourmet pub prices at below cheap chain quality. I give two stars because the Malbec is good and the service is friendly. We will return for drinks but not food.

I went there to try the new menu. It was not good. They where trying to do what they thought was up market restaurant style food but it was bad to mediocre at best. This sort of country pub should be serving good country pub grub. The landlord was the rudest most obnoxious miserable man I've ever encountered as a pub landlord, he was effing at my son as he tripped on a fireplace which juts out and he has placed a table and chairs to close to it. Several people tripped during the evening. He sat watching sport on the bar TV as his staff ran around.
