Nice buzzy place, reminds me of cafe's up Central London. Coffee was good . Very popular place I think as it was pretty busy. I haven't eaten there yet

Great place for lunch and coffee

I don’t really like writing negative reviews as I have spent almost 15 years in the public sector such as retail and travel, but after the awful experience from a staff member today, and reading some previous reviews about this place I can certainly see there is an issue with service and general manners.Myself and some friends were in town with our dogs. After a long walk around in the sunshine, I’d grabbed a coffee way beforehand from Cafe Nero and one of my friends had decided she was hungry, so we had a walk around and noticed Giambrones had lots of seats outside on the cobbles but with no one sitting there, which we thought would be perfect for the dogs and for us to sit and chat. One of my friends popped inside to order some food and came back out and sat with us. My friend made a passing comment that the staff seemed a bit grumpy and could of smiled but we brushed it off.The food arrived really quickly which was great. However, after a few minutes, a staff member, who I’m guessing was the owner or manager, came prancing over to us and complained that I had a Cafe Nero coffee cup whilst sitting down on their chairs. I apologised and wanted to mention I was thinking of ordering food anyway as my friends looked nice that she was tucking into, but I could hardly get a word in and she was rude and defensive that I was basically tarnishing their reputation by having a Cafe Nero takeaway cup and they’re an independent business. She said that she would ‘let me off this time’ and said not to do it again. She spoke to me like I was a 5 year old, making me feel like a bit of an idiot in front of my friends and other people passing by. It was extremely embarrassing and completely uncalled for.I can understand in a way where she was coming from and I apologised and I didn’t even think it was a huge issue as my friend had ordered food and was literally eating it in front of her, but to then continue on scolding me was absolutely not needed.Unfortunately, myself and friends will not be returning to Giambrones after today and hope after the multitude of reviews having the same issue with rude staff, that this gets rectified. I think I will stick to Cafe Nero, at least we get a service with a smile.

Unexpected stop here at Giambrone's due to planned bike cafe stop being closed. Popular with cyclists which always means the place is good! Warm welcome, great coffee and an amazing Almond Slice! Will be stopping off here again when next passing.

·

Food great, do a great cheese or meat board. Service lacks a smile or two, serving staff appear less than happy to see there customers.

Staff were unfriendly and had no patience - don't expect everyone to be able to see the blackboard menus from when they are queuing from the door. Mozarella and Bolognese Aranchini ball was bland and lukewarm. Latte didn't taste like it had any coffee in it and was just milk. Very disappointed especially seeing such good reviews on here.

Fab coffee and lunch. Great staff who responded so well tobm a sudden influx of customers . All felt Covid safe. A visit to this independent restaurant is highly recommended

·

Such unfriendly staff, really quite rude. We only had coffee, which was quite tasteless and I was most unimpressed by the extra charges for both soya milk and decaffeinated coffee.

·

Lovely feel to this independent delicafe and restaurant. Polite friendly extremely fast service. Very clean. Lovely lovely food. I would highly recommend this for a very pleasant lunch or for morning breakfasts and coffee. Excellent continental pastries, meats and foods with italian provenence.

Lovely italian cafe! Healthy options! Perfect arancinis! However, I recommend they lower amount of sugar in their pastries, way too sweet compare to what you would have in Italy. Overloaded with sugar! Great staff! Will definitely be back for more!
