Restaurant at The Gibbon Bridge in East Hertfordshire

This was a first visit when looking for a wedding venue. Have to say that we were extremely well looked after and all staff were very personable and helpful. The venue looked perfect, gardens are beautiful. We didn't eat or stay but hope to do so soon. Wedding booked , Obviously.

Lovely venue and room was massive and the bed even bigger. Only small personal draw back was the mattress was very soft with very little support. But overall 5 stars all round.

My husband and I had our wedding at Gibbon Bridge in March, having had numerous meals there previously and many family celebrations over the years. It was a truly perfect day. The grounds at Gibbon Bridge are stunning, and are worth a visit alone, set with the backdrop of the Forest of Bowland. The food was excellent, with many options to choose from and flexibility for us to choose exactly what we wanted. The entire Gibbon Bridge team were outstanding from the moment we enquired about booking a wedding, remembering little details and requests. On our wedding day, staff kept things moving throughout the day, keeping to timings and generally helping out for example with the men's flowers, helping set up the favours/name cards and making sure the best man knew what he was doing! It all went smoothly, and our guests had a fantastic time, many complementary of the venue. The staff are clearly very experienced when it comes to weddings, yet they make you feel like you are the only ones getting married there. We used all the bedrooms, which is recommended given the rural location. I got ready with my bridesmaids in the new bridal flat which is beautifully decorated and so spacious. We're so glad we chose to get married here, we can't recommend the venue enough, and of course will be back again soon.

Mothers Day Lunch: food was delicious, service was excellent, staff were all pleasant and efficient.. the pianist was wonderful and made the visit extra special. Thank you.

Lovely location. Decent food, albeit very traditional. High levels of service.....but they just couldn't get the drinks right.

This amazing venue is not only close to to my home but is also set in the amazing Forest of Bowland with amazing views from the conservatory dining areas. What makes this place even more special for dining is that they use a lot of local produce and local supply chain. We went for the set 3 course menu and was not disappointed, prawns for starters, duck for mains and a homemade desert was all excellent. The friendly prompt service from the staff complemented everything. To wash this all down I would suggest from the extensive wine list a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, from New Zealand. We will be making a return visit and thankyou.

Absolutely wonderful place. Went for a wedding there recently and was surprised with what a lovely place it is that’s been hiding away local to me all these years. Lots of really lovely sections, nice open fires. Went for a walk around the gardens too which although are left this time of year I can imagine how lovely it’d be in the summer. There were all these garden rooms which looked great to entertain in in summer. The room was superb. Super-king bed which was really comfy. Nice towels Etc. I can’t fault the place

A wonderful time spent at this fabulous venue for our daughter's wedding. The room they had chosen for their small intimate ceremony was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The hotel personnel were brilliant.

What a gem of a place this is. We had the pleasure of staying here on Sunday evening to check out a local wedding venue for business. We stayed and had dinner. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely and attentive. We are photographing a wedding there next year, what a beautiful venue. Grounds are stunning with lots of photo opportunities. Will definitely be staying there again. We met the owner who was lovely. What a fabulous place. Highly recommended.Mr and Mrs Brown 📸

Pre-ordered 3 course take away menu. Excellent food service and great value. A must for a Friday night treat.
