The Beautiful Ugley Chequers in East Hertfordshire

Lovely food, great service.

Very nice food, staff very pleasant and helpful. Decor appears quite dated, but you're not going to live at the pub lol. The whole place is clean. Car park is big enough.

Lovely food, fantastic atmosphere, staff are friendly. Great family place to go have lunch or a drink with your mates has a nice outside seating area too. Food and drinks are fairly priced and well worth it. Always a pleasure when I go there

In Essex, I had a walk from Elsenham to Newport. I decided to have lunch at the The Chequers. I wasn't disappointed, the steak and mushroom pie was very good. Nothing wrong with chips, mash of potatoes but I would recommend vegetables.

Fantastic food very friendly staff. great prices you will not be disappointed

Excellent meal, very good menu, special's as well... Very welcoming staff. We were a group of 10 looked after very well, nothing was too much trouble for them. It made our friends 80th birthday even more special. Thank you....

A delightful restaurant with wonderful staff serving great food. Have been there a few times.

Always very nice food here. The jumbo mixed grill is immense! Would have been a 5 star, but I asked for no peppers in my salad, but it was packed with them!

Great lunch again at The Chequers.went with the lunch club, everyone agreed the food was wonderful as usual. Staff are lovely. The outside could do with a lick of paint but don't let that put you off.

Lovely food, decent portions. Staff helpful and obliging and nothing too much trouble. We often take disabled and people with learning disabilities, we go again and again because it's good access and staff are great. The only downfall is that toilets are down about 4 steps, but there may be other toilets in the function room, where they do a carvery on Sundays.
