The Black Horse in East Hertfordshire

First visit here.Really enjoyed it.Very tasty, well presented food, by attentive and helpful, friendly staff.Definitely "come back" venue.

We visited The Black Horse on New Years Day for lunch based on a recommendation for our host while we were staying at a holiday cottage nearby and it did not disappoint. Such a lovely welcoming atmosphere with a beautiful open fire. My husband and I both ordered the rib eye steak and chips and it was perfectly cooked. When the staff saw it was our anniversary they sent over a bottle of prosecco to say congratulations which was so thoughtful and completely unexpected. We could have stayed all day enjoying the delicious food and drink and would definitely return if we were ever in the area again.

A lovely little local pub to visit. Had a lovely Fish & Chips lunch, a pint. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Great traditional country pub with outstanding food. All of the staff were attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. If you’re in the area it’s a must try.

We had lunch today. It was nice but a bit off putting when the owners children were running around the pub and one screaming I need to have a pooh. The food was good but a terrible lack of wine choice as they were waiting for a delivery.

First time at the Black Horse really loved the vibe unfortunately found the reception a surley and clinical. Were told from the of that we wouldn't be able to eat but could order some chips if we liked which we did and they were delicious. A fantastic barmaid (21/11) who was so helpful . Would I go there again yes I would it's a fab pub reasonable price food just hope next time the landlord is a little bit more welcoming.

This place is a little way out from the main station road near Buntingford but easily accessible by car. The staff were nice and the pub attractive and they do ask if you can book a table. The pricing can be a bit on the high side on individual items but also offer 2 course or 3 courses for 15.00 or 20.00 that have some of the mains and starters from the individual menus. The food was lovely and cooked so well. Really friendly. Highly recommend.

We had Sunday lunch there today and was very impressed. We had a warm welcome by Laura and her team. She was particularly helpful with my wife's dietary requirements, as she is dairy intolerant. They had even got in a sorbet for desert for her. The food was great and the service was very friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending The Black Horse and we will be definitely returning.

A great find on our sunday walking, they kindly fitted us in and we had a great lunch the food was lovely and we only had starters and amazing chips fantastic portions and really welcoming we,l be back for sure!

The staff were wonderful, food was delightful. A 5 star evening. 100% would visit again. The feather blade beef was the highlight of the mains, salmon with salsa verde is a must try.
