The College Arms in East Hertfordshire

We attended a function here. The pub was really lovely, what I would call a proper pub! The food buffet was delicious, especially the chips and the pork belly. I was impressed by the array of gins, my husband liked the whiskey selection! Would definitely visit again for a meal or a drink or two.

Waited three quarters of an hour for meals to arrive for 4 people😥 Nearly cold prawns in some sort of batter, wrong chips given. Correct chips arrived 10 minutes later than rest of meals!! were greasy and only just cooked. Surly supervisor/manager in black t-shirt and black jeans. One client almost had their meal delivered into their lap by supervisor/manager. Really not impressed!!!!!

My go to pub in Hertford. Brilliant function space, beer garden, choice of food and drinks, and the bar staff are great. Whether it's a beer with mates, or a family gathering, this is always my first choice!

Good service and food. Staff are friendly and cater to every need. Shame to see such limited options for veg/vegan.

Nice environment but disappointing food and service unfortunately. The menu looked lovely but all of us (group of 7) felt our meals didn't live up to expectations sadly. Vegan haggis Wellington was a filled puff pastry square rather than a Wellington, with not enough filling so mostly just tasted of pastry. Desserts a bit small and underwhelming given the price. E.g. My friends 'mulled wine poached pear with fresh fig and creme fraiche' was a teeny tiny pear and a couple of teaspoons of creme fraiche. No fig, nothing else on the plate. Chocolate brownie was very 'set' and hard, didn't seem like a baked brownie at all.I would normally laugh at moany reviews like this one but felt obligated to write a view because I felt this was very poor value.

Only stopped off cos I needed the loo ! Sunday lunchtime, full of diners. Had a quick drink out of politeness and the service was excellent. Good atmosphere and food looked good.

Great experience in this pub, lovely decor and atmosphere. All staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Mitchel who worked behind the bar but was more than happy to accommodate for me and friends who were sitting outside, would highly recommend

Having enjoyed the hospitality of this wonderfully situated British pub for many years in a scenic Hertfordshire village, The College Arms is now under new management and couldn't have asked for better service from Sarah, her daughter Ellie and their team who go the extra mile to assist customers. For soft drink fans, try a Bumbleberry in the enchanting garden (both pictured). An extremely positive consumer experience in every sense.

Brilliant service and food was excellent will definitely recommend and use again. My son had this wedding reception there they catered for us wonderfully very helpful and organized. Fantastic selection of drinks and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 .

We had our wedding meal here and it was amazing. Neil, Sarah and the staff have looked after us from the day they took over the pub. Nothing was too much trouble at any time and our menu was excellent. All of our guests were impressed and our dog, Dilys, was included and welcomed. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you.
