The Five Horseshoes in East Hertfordshire

Absolutely loved our midweek evening at that village pub.The food was excellent, beer’s & wine of a good standard and to complement these we’re, was our wonderful server “Gill” …!Nothing was to much trouble for her and made us feel as though we were regulars.Therefore we will most definitely be returning real soon.Thanks

First time visit to the Five Horseshoes and was very pleased with our evening there. The service was spot on. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding. Great job. Thank you to all those who made our evening one to remember. Will return for sure.

Love this pub. Cosy and spacious inside and lots of outside seating when its warm enough.Meals took a little while to appear but all well cooked and very tasty

Very average dinner. I’ve definitely had better fish at other pubs in the area. Small portions and dry. Service not fast and not the friendliest or welcoming. Burgers not bad. Deserts the highlight of the meal. Cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately not a pub I’d pick to go back to in a hurry.

My family went for Sunday lunch, which we were all looking forward to.The staff were nice and friendly, but unfortunately that didn't make up for the food.Starters were OK but we all ordered roast beef main.The meat was tough, fatty and inedible.Roast potatoes were cold and the gravy had a strange taste.Not impressed at all.

First visit for years and I was well impressed. Lovely and relaxing,nice selection of beers and the food was excellent. Enjoyed my visit very much,certainly go back. Well done to all at The Five Horseshoes.

Awful food served up at lunchtime 27/01/22 - chips, onion rings, burger, fried egg all seriously over-cooked. Partner’s pie was simply disgusting - replaced following complaint but never again! There are plenty of pubs in Herts producing lovely food at reasonable prices so I won’t be back at the 5 Horseshoes!

Lovely pub restaurant and great staff. Just enjoyed a really excellent Sunday Lunch meal with my family - I had roast turkey with all the trimmings, wonderful roasters and veg all coated in superbly flavoursome gravy and plenty of it as I requested. Highly recommended!!!

Had a beautiful Xmas dinner at the Five horseshoes on boxing day. I never usually leave reviews, but felt I needed to as we were so impressed with the food. It felt like a home cooked Xmas dinner. Very generous portions. The whole family had a wonderful meal and great service, could fault it. We will be back and definitely recommending it to all our friends and family for next Xmas.

Okay, but not quite as good as usual. The steak pie seemed as if it was around for hours as the pie crust was hard and dry. Long time waiting for food and not many people in for a Friday. I will go back as the decor and atmosphere is good but please don't let your food standards drop as there will be customer loss.
