After a nice long dog walk had lunch - a great pizza (and chunky chips for the dog 😃) -Nuce selection of beers too.

Lovely hidden gem on outskirts of Hertford. Great food, great service, reasonable prices nice feel and will be back especially in summer to use the outside space

·

Great food and drink, attentive staff in a relaxed environment. Highly recommended!

Service is great. The pork roast is such a disappointment. I will definitely come back to try the other food and hopefully then leave a 5 star rating.I was so looking forward to the roast as everyone said such great things.

·

Very good food, palatable, good portions. The staff very friendly and approacable. Received very good welcome.

·

Very nice lunch with polite and efficient service. Watch out for the service charge automatically put on your bill, I don't like it.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother and step-father who visited The Grandison on the 15th October for lunch. Unfortunately, mum went down with gastroenteritis approx 48 hours later (as diagnosed by her GP). She was very ill for well over a week and is only just starting to make a proper recovery. The meals consisted of a beef burger, which was very hard and my step-father had a steak which he described as grisly and running with blood as he cut into it.Furthermore, we have been advised that the Manager of the establishment has also been absent with gastroenteritis and also the person that does the cleaning there. It's a real shame, as this is not the first time that we have noticed a drop in standard of the food and management quality. The Grandison is a very special place for my Mother and she has had many years of happy memories there, it's unfortunate that this experience wasn't one of them.

Friendly and charming, there's a good menu with a lot of seafood options, as well as a range of salads and meat dishes to choose from. The inside is attractive and there are three outside spaces, at the front and back (one, covered, to eat and another decked area for drinks). They are very dog friendly - and there are lovely walks available in nearby Beal's Woods.

Excellent food and friendly staff-will definitely plan a return visit soon.
