Lovely place and lovely staff. I'm not a big fan of curries but the bhajis and tandoori are delicious. Free bottle with takeaway over £40 is a good bonus.

My favourite Indian restaurant in Hertford. Been going for years. The staff are very friendly and the food is always so so good! I wouldn't go anywhere else in Hertford for a curry!

its small and cosy. super friendly staff and very professional especially through covid. most importantly though the food is literally insane. so tasty! I like a tikka masala myself which is usually quite bland but at the raj it actually tatses like a curry :D my partner tends to mix it up a little but every curry he has had we have both loved! 100% the best in Hertford I say.

Have always enjoyed the food here and that should warrant a 5 star score. Just feel that it's become a little too expensive over the course of the last year or so, so needs balance. Very hospitable staff, quaint little place

I have eaten in The Raj and had their takeaway on many occasions. The menu is very varied and all the food is excellent. The staff are always very pleasant and friendly. Do not be deceived by the unassuming look of the frontage and its on street location - this is a top notch curry house! It can get busy at weekends, but that's because the food is so good.When I hosted a schoolfriends' reunion I once took 7 curry-loving friends (3 of them vegetarian) to dinner there and to a man they were all hugely impressed.
