The Woodman and Olive in East Hertfordshire

We had a great evening at the Woodman and Olive with Friends and Family. The food was excellent, portions great and the staff were incredibly attentive. The place is also ideal for families with young kids during the day. I couldn’t recommend it enough and will definitely be back there soon!

We have probably been at least once a month since the new management and will continue to do so! The food is incredible, high end yet in a comfortable setting you can go dressed up or casual bring the kids or leave them at home!I know for we will probably be there every weekend over the summer with the park and greenery it’s perfect for our baby and we can bring the dog!We have loved it so much we have even planned our daughters christening, first birthday and our wedding at the woodman and after the fun day on the weekend we really can’t wait.This place is just what the area needed.

We had a great meal in the pub, portions were big and food was delicious. Staff are are very friendly. Would recommend it and go back again.

Great food, great service and great setting! The food is great and plentiful. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Looking forward to my next visit.

Really disappointed with our take away last night.Food was delayed which we understood.But the quality and size was very disappointing .Very small portions , hardly any sauce . Almost cold . Such a shame .

We have visited the woodman and olive for special occasions often. This was our first visit back under new management. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We ordered chicken souvlaki, what we got didn't resemble the pictures on the website. We got loose lumps of chicken on a side plate , and I got a bowl of greasy rice, that was it, I had to order a side salad separately to add a bit of colour to my meal. I asked the waitress if they were under pressure as it was busy and I thought this might be why, but she told me no it wasn't that busy at all. Also when we got the bill we noticed that they added a 10% service charge which I found to be quite cheeky, I should be the one to decide whether I leave a tip or not. Unfortunately we won't be going back which is a shame as we loved the location.

Cute little pub/restaurant. Fantastic service. Great food. A good pit stop for after visiting the zoo. Highly recommend for the family.

Firstly, congratulations to Kyri and Maria on taking over this new venture. You’ve done it up lovely. First time visiting there and you didn’t disappoint. Friendly staff, very accommodating and the food was outstanding. I very much look forward to coming again.

We had my little boys christening here a few days ago and I am so glad we did!The new owners Kyri and Maria were absolutely amazing! They honoured my booking made with the previous owner even though they have not even opened yet! The venue itself is beautiful, the grounds and surrounding views are stunning and it has been refreshed and some gorgeous new features have been installed.The food was perfect and plentiful (massive compliments to the chefs). The service was immaculate. The staff were all equally amazing and always available for anything me and my guests needed.I can honestly say that there was not one tiny complaint about anything from any of my guests, in fact all my guests are looking forward to going back. The new owners and staff kept all of us happy throughout the run up to the event, during the christening and after!I can’t wait for them to officially open so I can go back and try all of their delicious food!Thank you so much to everyone at the Woodman and Olive for everything!

Very good food, and friendly staff - wide selection of delicious foods from Cyprus. Thoroughly enjoyed the plate smashing and the entertainment. Lounza and Halloumi is delicious, with a nice cold Keo beer. Keep up the good work, it's a great spot, and I'll definitely be returning soon.
