A family lunch in the garden on a very hot Sunday. Very nice play area for chidren, large marquee for private hire or perhaps overspill from the pub itself. Food was very nice. Will definitely return.

Lunch for 17....Never easy but we were well looked after, the staff were kind pleasant and caring and all the food arrived hot well presented and tasty.Overall a great day out.

As a group of cyclists we’d phoned ahead a couple of days in advance to ask if we could call in for tea/coffee mid morning and we were told that it would be ok. When we arrived the man told us that they didn’t open until midday and reluctantly served us tea and coffee. He was very unwelcoming and seemed very stressed. We waited for some time for the drinks to come out, coffee was cold and order was wrong. Man once again reminded us that they didn’t open until midday and was very agitated. Very disappointed with the service and attitude. Would have preferred to be told that we couldn’t visit when we called, rather than to be made to feel a nuisance for being there.

Popped in to get a look at the memorial and had a quick coffee (excellent) and the best ham sandwich in a long while. Proper ham thickly cut. Service was excellent- very friendly young lady when I was there.

We had such a lovely welcome when we popped in for a midweek lunch. The fire was lit for us and they were so accommodating to my toddler. The food was excellent and we loved the lunch menu, with good portions. We will be back, it looked like there were some great events coming up! Thank you!

Went as part of a physic medium evening.Food was tasty but only 3 options for main which was not published until the day of the event. Not food I would've picked and small portions, not what I would expect for £35 per head.Would've liked to have known the menu in advance.

We are sorry we did not pay the service charge added to our bill . The setting was nice the food was lovely although we choose the leg of leg and we got given 2 slices each but turned out to be ample in the end . But the service could of been a little more intentive. We was not asked if everything was ok we had to ask for a sunday menu we had to ask for more drinks and we had to ask for a dessert the table beside us came in after us and there was 4 of them.(2 of us) got there meal before we did although not too long.. but still .We were trying to get attention from a member of staff to pay the bill. But she was chatting to people she knew on another table and although she looked over to is made no indication she would be over . Some else came in the end .

Only ever been down in the summer for food in the garden but came down yesterday and had a great table by the fire for a cosy winter family meal. All of us loved it and finished off everything put in front of us. Highly recommend, has tonnes of charm and personality, including the staff :-)

This is the first time visiting this pub and we will definitely be coming back. Sunday roast was the best I've had in a long time and the pub itself is full of WW2 memorabilia. Thoroughly recommend.
