Woolpack in East Hertfordshire

Excellent place for a pint. Decent burgers to be had, but missing the pub classics. Small pub overall. The other clientele we're youngsters, which keeps the atmosphere lively. The out door section is very nice. The bathrooms are adequate and clean.

Been coming here on and off for many years however the new management team there now are amazing.It did start to go down hill but these guys have come in and completely turned it around and now the staff actually smile when you walk in.Professional ,charming yet fun atmosphere.Fully recommend

Brilliant level of service very friendly staff even the manager was a dream to meet offering a warm welcome. Very clean and tidy . Cant remember the last time I've come across such a well put together establishment. Well done McMullen for this great experience 5stars. Will definitely be making more visits 👍

Wow what a lovely place. . !!. Very warm welcome from the staff and nothing was too much trouble. We were there at lunchtime and it was busy but very spacious and well organised. Food was delivered to the table super quick and was so delicious. It came very well presented , piping hot and plenty of it. The pub is a McMullens pub so a pint of AK is a must. The pub is very dog friendly. . . . In fact the team came out with treats and a bowl of water for ours which was a very nice touch. I must just say that the staff we engaged with were excellent. . . .very polite , friendly and had a can do attitude which is a rare thing these days. If you are in Hertford you must check out this pub which is situated in the town not far from the Castle Hall. We went here 2 days running for drinks and meals and was totally blown away with the hospitality. . . . .top marks guys.

Certainly a decent spot for a beer and a burger! Totally commend the guys for having some vegan options, but the burger needs a bit of work at this moment in time. Just lacking a bit of flavour, sure they'll improve it in time!

Excellent, Macs beer at its best, friendly, helpful service and a very nice log fire in the winter. The terrace by the river is a highlight in good weather. The food menu is comprehensive and tasty. I particularly enjoy the burgers. My cousins came to visit and they wanted to return.

Went along for last nights (Tuesday night) quiz, managed to snag the epic table by the open fireplace. Super dog friendly, lovely bar staff too. Quiz was a blast and the food was great. Couple of lovely burgers and fries. Decent selection of alcohol free beers for a bit of mid-week abstinence. All in all a great experience.

A gorgeous, sunny evening sitting outside by the river. Excellent staff served nice wine and great burgers (with great fries). I'll be back next time I'm visiting friends locally. A big yes from me. Thank you.

Best burger in town. Amazing and friendly staff. Love the location and the garden next to the canal is just a really nice place where you can get a beer with your friends and chill out under this heat wave!

Best fish and chips I have tasted and super salad. The fish had a great flavour to it. Beautiful location. If I lived in Hartford I would live in place
