Mayfield Farm Bakery Cafe in Epping Forest

Used to be my (and my cyclist clubs) go to, but unfortunately as the variety has grown, some of the freshness and quality feels like it has gone down.Had, on two occasions now, sourdough that was underproofed, so much so that I didn't end up eating it. We used to buy the sourdough and beetroot bread regularly and they used to be spot on. My favourites, the rock cakes, do seem now like they are stored for a little longer, whereas they used to feel fresh out of the oven.I never really liked their coffee much, then I go to eat their bakery. First time it was a little let down, I gave benefit of doubt, now it's at least the third consecutive experience I felt disappointed by the freshness and won't return.

Great pastries and baked goods in both sweet and savory form, both cold and hot. Nice seating area plus blankets available if it's cold in winter. Though the coffee is pretty mediocre sadly.

Fantastic service from a very conscientious young lady. Went above and beyond to make sure we were all looked after. Lovely food, nice staff, and fortunate to have great weather as we had to sit outside for a short while. Really liked the reciprocal arrangement between the bakery and the sausage shop. Looking forward to another visit.

Worth to visit! Especially for those lovely Avo&Eggs!

We had breakfast here today and it was the worst £28 ever spent. The floor was dirty and slippery, almost every table was broken and wonky, there was uncleared tables and either short staffed or extremely slow. The food its self was cheap, cold and tasteles.

Love the bakery & the range of bread for sale, the cafe is lovely for lunch and all day breakfast. Honestly I have never had a lunch that I didn’t enjoy & the staff are always so welcoming & friendly. Highly recommend - but not too much else I won’t get a table 😉

Myself and my friend had a lovely afternoon tea today. We were made very welcome and well looked after. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were delicious. Would definitely recommend

Had a days bakery course at Mayfield Farm Bakery. If you're looking to improve your baking skills (mine were at the level of creating bricks) then this course is perfect. Taken by a master Baker of many years standing and taught in a relaxed, informal environment, even I managed to produce bread that I was proud to give to friends and neighbours. A most excellent birthday gift for myself from my wife.

VEGAN VEGAN VEGAN, what a fantastic surprise i got today at Mayfair bakery. on site freshly made dairy free pizza, made by a very polite Italian fella who was just the best chief i had come across, he hand prepared the dough, sauces & topping 5am this morning i think that's dedication at its finest. Thank you guys

Friendly people and delicious food. My daughter treated me to afternoon tea for mothers day. It was absolutely delicious. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back again.
