Onami in Epping Forest

I ordered £35 worth of food via just eat , went to collect it , food wasn’t ready & there was only one person serving & he was on the phone . I ordered 2 ramen , sushi , sea food dumburi .25 minutes later the food was ready , when I got home opened the food it was disgusting. Ramen went straight to the bin it consist of fried stuff like vegetables very old taste , sea food dumburi wasn’t there instead he gave us fried fish which was again very soggi & old .Only thing that was worth eating was spring rolls & the salmon sushi rest went to the bin . What a waist of money & time .

I would leave a 0 if possible. Disgraceful customer service - failed to deliver all food ordered then they argued to say they sent it and would not refund me the full order when I went down there to return the takeaway I received. Surprised this place is still up and running with service they provide - looking at other reviews it seems common they will call you a lier if they are in the wrong - if it happens to you call the police because they are literally thieves and will not refund the money owedReply to owner - it was your establishment ONAMI sushi in Loughton. The toxic owner with glasses is the person that argued this with me when I returned my food to the restaurant. I’m guessing your implying I’m not telling the truth again, in regards to your CCTV that means nothing when you fail to refund customers money they are owed for orders they did not receive. Once again you think your right and the customer is wrong. I don’t need to provide details on my order because the owner will know himself this happened and it may not have been lately but it most definitely happened and they refused to refund money that is owed.

Been using Onami for years. Great food at a great price. Good Sushi isn't cheap, but i always find Onami very reasonable. Big Fans of their Futomaki and the Tempura veg. Keep up the great work guys! Five stars.

If I could leave 0 that would be too good for this place. Food was AWFUL. Avocado in sushi set bad, vegetable fried rice well let’s call it boiled rice with chunks of carrots and onions with savour taste in it and dumplings were burned. When I rang the person couldn’t even speak in English properly, so really no one cared for the complain. Never again 🤢🤢🤢Please don’t lie this is how you cook normally and don’t lie about how you asked to bring food back, you only reply because other people can see it. Do you really think I need £20 back? No thank you I’m just telling other people about disgraceful food you serve. Just had a look on Tripadvisor , so many bad reviews about your food so I’m definetely not making it up, how you just assumed in your shameful reply.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Just experienced the worst customer service ever.Their food is ok, nothing special and therefore overpriced.I spent nearly £30 and was given the smallest portion of wasabi and soy sauce.I asked for more after having paid and was told I would have to pay more which I was happy to do but it would have to be cash as under their limit. I only had a card on me which I used to pay for main order.It was at this point the ‘chef’ lost it claiming he told me this last time which he most definitely did not. What ensued was a tirade of abuse when I refused to accept his lies.He went as far as to call me a liar. Why would I try and avoid paying £1.50 extra having just spent £28???I would never step foot in this establishment again and urge others to proceed with caution.Customer service obviously isn’t on the menu!

Based solely on a takeaway: good and reasonably priced food. Portions are not humongous, so order two mains if you're a big eater. One complaint: the curry sauce in chicken katsu was clearly too thin, almost watery. Seems like an outlier though, because tempura, sushi, noodles, etc. were all tasty.

Small friendly cafe style sushi counter and takeaway. Great authentic sushi, sashimi and wider menu. Highly recommended for takeaway and casual local or sushi lover basic dining. We often eat in, it is great but not for everyone. Takeaway is excellent for anyone

This is a small place but the food is constantly excellent. Good size cuts of fish and rolls. Tempura also very light and tasty. Had the fried noodles too and again very nice. Parking is a little of a problem here as it's on a main road. There are some side streets you could park but other than that it is close to Loughton underground and the 167 bus stop. Would recommend this place if you are in the area and fancy Japanese style cuisine.

Other than Kome in Woodford, this is my go to place for sushi. Chef used to work in Nobu and food has always been consistently good.
