Shikha Indian Takeaway in Epping Forest

I tried food here, and it was tasty 😋 Recommending to humans who like Indian food 😻

My delivery arrived lukewarm and was quite tasteless, and gave me mild food poisoning. My partner, who is Indian and a knowledgeable cook, having ordered independently at a later date, agreed that the food was not good

Best Indian takeaway I’ve ever had! Great service. Couldn’t move to far away as I know I won’t get a better takeaway anywhere else.

Ordered using Uber Eat and was sent the wrong order. Must have been someone else's. Sent them a message via the app and and also rang the delivery man and left a message on his voice mail. Neither the restaurant or the delivery man contacted me. So was left staring at an unwanted order for an hour.. What to do??? Eat it or wait??? Still heard nothing... 2 hours has gone by.. Pretty disappointing since I'm starving!!

After using this place for over 2 years twice a month I was treat like dirt yesterday. Wrong items sent and poor packaging mean most of the curry was in the bottom of the plastic bag. Upon speaking to the resteraunt (who answered the phone with "Hello Michael") the manager stated that he could not replace the incorrect or damaged items as "it would cost me money to send my driver out". Disgraceful service, the meal was unedible and will not be using again. A loyal customer lost.

Edit: after a number of uses the food remained a very good quality. The delivery times remained too long though, and was even asked to collect as would have been over 90 mins otherwise (but refused any discount or complementary poppadom). As a result we did try somewhere else where the food is as high a quality, delivery time is good and they give free poppadoms which is a nice touch when spending over £30 each time. Going forward we will continue to use Chigwell Tandoori.

My family order from Shikha weekly and have done for the past 2 years. The food is absolutely fantastic and beautifully fresh. The staff are really friendly too which is always a bonus. I can honestly say we’ve never experienced a bad take away here.

Editing my review as I’ve recently changed to a Vegan lifestyle and was so pleased to hear that Shikha offer a dairy free version on my favourite curry! I can still join in the family takeaway and don’t have to compromise the amazing taste!Original: Always get my takeaway from Shikha. I’m shocked to see the good reviews - clearly others haven’t tasted good food. The food in the place is awful. Worse than awful. Curries taste the same and the chicken is not fresh. AT ALL (you can tell by the smell). I tried various dishes thinking maybe it was my tastebuds but my guests agreed and all the food had to be thrown away. It has a lot of variety but that means nothing. Naans are nice that’s it. Think twice before you order from here! Honestly order from elsewhere unless you want to have sick burps and tummy ache.

this place is amazing. reviews are really positive so we thought we'd give it a try. vegetarian food was absolutely delicious. delivery was pretty quick. guy on the phone very friendly. will be coming back. they should open a sit down restaurant!
