The Chequers in Epping Forest

A lovely restaurant pub with great food, very friendly and attentive staff. Well worth a visit and we'll definitely be going back again.

I'm over on holidays for the weekend and my brother brought my mum and I here. My mum is dairy Intolerance and they were very accomadating to her needs. The waiter went out of his way to make sure she was looked after. The food was fabulous I had the fruitt de mare a d there was plenty of fish in in. Great atmosphere around the restaurant. Will look forward to going back again. Highly recommend it.

This was my first time here, the food was ok, but a little expensive for what it is and how it was cooked especially when a poached egg is not runny, it does then set the standard for the rest of the meal. I really didn't appreciate the loud drunk couple sat in the corner opposite us. It was late but I was more shocked that they were still being supplied with alcohol when it was very obvious they had too much already. The wine was good and I appreciated the recommendation as it will be a wine I will buy again, unfortunately not from here.

Travelled from Suffolk to this place today to meet our son and daughter-in-law for lunch the food, service and ambiance was excellent. Good menu choices lots of helpful attentive staff and clean and beautifully decorated would definitely recommend a visit

The Chequers is a high end restaurant in a beautiful location. Food is wonderful, cocktails are as good as you’ll get anywhere. It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours any day of the week 🙂

Wonderful atmosphere, very polite and accomplished staff. Superb food with generous helpings but not too generous. Extensive food and drinks menu to suit most pockets seeking good quality. Keep up the good work and we will spread the word and continue to return.

Had Sunday roast...excellent! Beef on the rare side...as I like it. Lot's of different veg...roast potatoes, carrot batons, fine beans, sprouts and red cabbage...served with a generous boat full of rich gravy...and topped with a perfect Yorkshire!Service was polite and attentive...I felt worthy of the 10% service charge.Nice atmosphere too

Had a dinner tonight at this lovely pub . The premises itself very clean and nice and good for celebrating any special occasion. There is large garden area which is looks very beautiful especially at the night time . Staff is very polite and helpful. Food is very tasty , good size of portion . It’s not cheap . But i think the price is a bit to high compare other pubs or restaurants nearby.The only thing I don’t like it is the annoying while you eating your food inside the restaurant , there was quite few of them and they drive me mad throughout the all evening as I can’t cope with them watching they don’t sit on our food.Also there was one forgotten dessert 🍮 to be served, so my friend was left out sitting watching us eating our dessert and still waiting to be served .It’s a nice place , with great atmosphere and food . A bit expensive (Would I recommend ? - yes . But check price at the time you order, so would’ not get surprised when you’ll see final bill .But it’s a good , clean , cosy , tasty place 👍

A very nice restaurant with great service and great food, easily accessible and parking at the side of the building. Definitely worth a try!
