Nice quiet pub atmosphere. Limited choice of beer on the pump but good quality. Nice range of pub food and good lunch time sandwich choice. Fresh cooked baguettes and real bacon. Also a wine list that is limited but covers all the basics. Prices are very reasonable for food and drink. Recommended.

First time here today as a group of 4, lovely cosy pub.I could of sat in that garden all day drinking that lovely pint of stellar!Food was superb, one of the best roast dinners I have had for a long time, just a shame i had no room to scoff down that cheese cake!. Staff were polite and the service was good, will definitely return soon.

Fantastic!!! Great food at really good prices, excellent staff (many thanks to our server Lisa), couldn't fault it. Great feature, you can choose the size of the roast dinner you get. Thankfully I chose the small, because there was a mountain of food and I couldn't finish it. You have been warned 😂. Will definitely return, happy to recommend...

Without a doubt the BEST pub food I have ever tasted (and I have tasted many). The portions are extremely generous. Proper food, none of that packet rubbish. Will be stopping here again on our fortnightly drive through Waltham abbey

Had the most superb lunch here today. Served by cheerful, helpful staff and we were warmly welcomed by Kelly, who could not have been more helpful. A country pub, but would compare favourably with some very expensive restaurants. Keep doing what you're doing! Well worth a lengthy detour, visit soon. But do book, it gets busy. Six stars please!

Great little pub the food is really good, nice portions. Been there twice now id definitely go back again, friendly staff good value, very country pub warm feeling to it.

Small country pub,with a great atmosphere,we had a 4:30 sun lunch sitting, pub was crowded, everyone seemed to know someone. Good selection of food,I chose a med sized roast, it wasn't big, it was enormous !!! My companion chose large, there was enough to feed 4 of us. Staff were fantastic friendly and helpful. Wish I lived nearer, I'd make it my regular.

I vowed long ago NEVER to take a photo of any meal I ever ate, and stuck to it in the entire decade I have had a phone that both takes pictures and allows me to post same on the interweb. Today, however, marks an even more momentous episode in a life that stretches over eight decades from the dim and distant 1950s. For the entire length of this 21st century, I have proudly eaten every palatable meal (and many that were anything but, especially when I was teaching myself to cook) to the last morsel, but the roast dinner I had today defeated me. Hence the picture.I was there with a hungry group of people who ride bikes, and were taking part in a special edition of my 'Taking the Peaceful Route' event. We had ridden up through Epping Forest and had various adventures on the way, including a ride past the very beautiful Copped Hall, and all were sharp set, made even more acute by a delay in getting our orders in, because the first sunny Sunday in far too long had packed the place beyond its usual capacity.Still, everything comes to he who waits, and when we were served the food was truly excellent. I had the roast lamb, and if the quantity was more than even I could cope with, the quality was equally exceptional. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy within, and all the remaining vegetables were cooked to perfection. I could perhaps have done without the cauliflower cheese, but it made for an interesting bonne bouche, and I'm going to blame it for filling me up so much I had - oh the mortification! - to leave a few scraps on my plate. When I thanked the waitress for my meal, and admitted defeat for the first time this millennium, she punched the air and cheered. Why can't I give this place more than five stars?
