I really want to love this pub because it's beautiful and very local, but unfortunately it never fails to disappoint. They never seem to have the thing i want from the menu, and I've been given something i didn't order twice now. Some staff members are downright rude - although others are lovely so it's not all terrible, but it could be sooooo much better.

First time visiting the kings head, Charlotte and Lillie made us feel very welcomed. They were very attentive and made sure everything was okay with our food. The food was lovely. Definitely will be coming here again.

Good old fashioned service , great food served in a stunningly beautiful venue .This is the second time we have visited this Pub and it is top draw , you are sure of a warm welcome from Kirsty and the girls at the Kings Head .Nothing is too much trouble, and every request is met with a warm smile. The food servings are generous and beautifully cooked and served with great care to ensure you are completely happy .Lovely venue with 460 years of history all around you as you eat , drink and laugh .... who could honestly ask for more.Kirsty and Ladies thank you so much we loved visiting you so much and will be back soon

We booked for Good Friday which was a relatives birthday. The food was good what we had, however disappointing as there was very limited dishes, very limited wine available and no eggs for the Gammon. Service was good. For Easter weekend I would expect better. We did receive an email explaining there maybe shortages but there was half the menu missing and even that menu was not the full one advertised.

I really wanted to give this pub more stars as honestly it's a nice pub with nice people and staff, however the reason for the one star is due to the lack of service, we ordered food and was waiting for over an hour for our food. Had an issue with the starters which to the credit of the pub they rectified by not charging us for this. Our mains which was a burger and chips took near an hour to bring to our table. Was asked if we wanted chunky fries or skinny fries and they brought us chunky fries, and I also informed them I can not have red onion on my burger and they put red onion on my burger. Can you imagine if I was allergic and took a bite? Service was really poor and slow and definitely won't be coming back.

I dropped into you pub earlier this evening before I headed back to London. I was happy to find the place so welcoming especially as I was travelling on my own. The delightful young waitress with red hair made my visit all the more enjoyable with her pleasant and cheerful manner. I will definitely return the next time I am in the area.Margaret Kilfeather
