Drunk racist a_hole almost ruined lovely evening. Hope Samuel gets banned from every pub in Loughton. He hates Muslims BTW. Can't tell difference between true Muslims and Jihad terrorism. Runs a building company ... LOL liar!!!!! TX to lovely Chloe and the gorgeous young people there xxxx PS my best mates are Muslims and non white racist MFkrs

Great service, even at 8am on a Sunday; they do a lovely cooked breakfast. Nice atmosphere during the early afternoon with an excellent selection of beers on tap. Other pubs ( in the area ) do not seem to offer anything close to the range of pints available. Full marks once again to JDW

My breakfast was missing a tomato, the hash browns looked quite overcooked, and there was no non dairy alternative milk. It said on the menu you could get some. But there was none.

As I have said you can't go wrong with a JD weatherspoon, a lovely place to take the family out for a bite to eat.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 To the staff

Was served very fast & after the first order @ the bar, I ordered using their app, & the pint arrived (twice) within 2 minutes!! Good weather, so was gr8 to sit out on the tables outside on the main drag strip!! I love Hobgoblin Ruby Ale @ home, so to find it on draught here, was a real treat for me.I would recommend this establishment to all which is 1/2 way down the high street!!

If your under fourteen you will have no problem getting served. While those legally old enough don't get served. But then depends who's behind the bar!!!

Iv been in this pub for many yrs.not regularly... The offers can be good & food is good value for money. But pick quieter times & not w/es in evening. Most staff are friendly & efficient...But I'm afraid they seem to put unconfident, badly trained, unexperienced (they think they have experience, but not of life or older people, who do not cause trouble) young people in charge. Can we not have at least one older person?Or is WS ageist?Yes we all start somewhere, one life...I will be brief as I'v sent 2 emails now, to try to get to someone not passing the buck..Seems WSpoons is so big its getting like the Knights Templar (one of their pubs in london) & treating people poorly, then being disbanded as too rich...I took an 84 yr old frend in (1st time) for a coffee, mid day.My 1st cup was fine,2nd cup had a rinse cycle on top of my drink.3rd cup, machine had run out of milk, so I needed a 3rd cup.2 other staff had given me 2 cups. The manageress? who I didn't know, gave me a 3rd cup & harshly told me, 'That's your 3rd Cup'!! As if I was a naughty child.I explained, she wouldn't listen & then barred me!!I'm getting a standard reply from WS, that I must sort it out with her!For some reason, she doesn't like me (never met her before) but do I have to say, 'Please mam' (I'm nearly 70!) and not question her reasoning & her taking no notice of my explanation, until I got a little cross..I dont want to upset anyone. She obviously didn't care & was unable to communicate pleasantly, about something that was totally irrelevant & guaranteed to come across as unfriendly & petty.Another person would have totally understood why 3 cups were required... when I explained..Do they stop bad loud language in there? No. So I try to go in at quiet times.Spent too much time on this petty, but unjust topic...She will leave soon anyway...If she has sense & get out in the world..

Fish and chips were great.

I went here for some more drinks after a work Christmas dinner and it was absolutely rammed with barely-legal kids. Talk about making you feel old! It felt rather rowdy and bar staff were very slow at making drinks (took about 10 minutes after ordering for our server to give us our drinks which were 3 double-spitit and mixers, not cocktails). Not my cup of tea so won't be back.
