The New Inn in Epping Forest

This is a proper pub with really good proper pub food, and pleasant staff.

Lovely atmosphere, good service & great food

I had a really great meal here the staff and food are excellent and it has a very spacious and sunny garden. 10/10

I was looking for a nice place to eat in Roydon on a Sunday lunchtime, and had been told my options were limited, and that The New Inn might be the best bet.Well, I checked the reviews here and the pictures and the food looked very basic, which wasn't appealing.But, as my friend said, the choices were limited. So we decided to go for the Sunday roast beef and drown any disappointment with a bottle of the house's finest red wine.Their finest red wine turned out to be their only red wine. But it was quaffable enough.And the roast dinner? Surprisingly good, well cooked and tasty, and the staff did everything they could to make our meal a very pleasant one. Which it turned out to be.I really enjoyed this meal, the pub is cosy and very much a local country pub with many regular returning customers. And I'm not surprised at that now.It's well worth a return visit.

Nice food, reasonable prices only thing its small so get there early

Really nice family run (not brewery owned). Beer is good and cheapest in Roydon. Not tried food but mum goes to the senior citz lunch and says it's good

Was at an outdoor event so only used the bar to get a drink.... The inn supplied the food which was good basic finger food ... Tasty 👍weather chilly so a brazier here and there would have been welcome 😊

The place could be lovely, the garden is wonderful especially if you have children. They can go and have fun. The only issue is the owner. She simply cant be bothered and that shows, the service is slow, and it feels you are bothering when ordering something. What a shame, it could be such a great pub.
