The Owl in Epping Forest

Great country pub. Went with a group of approx 60 people on a pre booked BBQ event. Catering was superb plenty of choice all well cooked. Good veggie and halal options. Plenty of salad and accompaniments. Good outside space with plenty of tables and seating. Friendly helpful staff beers was good too. Well worth a visit

1st time visit to 'The Owl', set in Epping Forest in Loughton. Beautiful pub with massive bear garden overlooking the open field for miles. A friend recommended the fish & chips. It was great. It's a not on the dear side, then again you pay for the quality of the food and surrounding you're in. The staff are polite and courteous with a fast service. Also serves guest beers and ales. I look forward to going there again with family.

Amazing pub in Epping forest! Portions we huge and very tasty food for the price. Very dog friendly with a doggy menu too. Lovely view over the forest. Highly recommend after a walk in Epping forest, great for kids and dogs.

Food is nice and portions are well sized but I found staff not that nice: although we were told we could have the table for two hours, they started to insist we paid and moved to a table outside for dessert fifteen minutes before the two hours were over... We ended up having to leave ten minutes early and having dessert at another table. If it's two hours, it's two hours: they should be able to bring the food faster, not ask guests to move so they can fill the table again

Great day at the Owl - the kids loved the outdoor space and playground. The BBQ was great, they said a 30 min wait for food but was more like 15. Pork bites from the main menu were really not nice at all as they were just fat, no sauce and a waste of £7 but everyone enjoyed all the other dishes.

It’s such a shame that our experience didn’t match up to our expectations. The staff were lovely, but our table was sticky and still had crumbs from the last customers, and the restaurant was full of flies which made trying to enjoy a meal really difficult. Added to that, the vegetarian options were very limited - unless you like sweet potato - so we ended up ordering a pizza. It was ok.

We had our wedding reception here last night. It was a small affair only 20 of us in total and all the staff really put themselves out to make our day so special. The food ,as always, was fantastic tasted delicious piping hot and great quality and price. I honestly can’t recommend these guys highly enough. They went above and beyond to give us the most perfect evening. Thank you to Iris who made our cake and set up all the table etc for us and thank you to all the rest of the staff that were on last night you were all amazing and worked so hard 💞💞💞

It's a very nice place the staff are constantly cleaning due to covid. We had not booked a table but it was my partner's birthday so we went out for food the Manager gave us a small table in the corner we got a waitress how was a delightful young lady how got us how drinks straight away. She then took how order for how meal and checked in to see if everything thing was ok . She also kept how table clean and tidy throughout how stay . The food was great it's not pub food that they serve will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Lovely place, hidden away a bit from high beach loved being here, used to come here often when I was younger and if anything has gotten better with age.. thanks very much guys was a very pleasant experience sitting outdoors, with drinks and food swiftly served and nice to eat!

Very poor service but food really poor . Chips were soggy with lots of oily bits in and the burger was just bland and they forgot the cheese in it. . My Jacket potato was okay but had no flavour with a limp side salad and no dressing. When asked by one of the staff how my meal was I told him that neither of my sons had eaten theirs (other son had spaghetti Bolognese ) and he eats anything! When I told the staff he could see that no one had eaten anything and that the food looked woeful but he just laughed and could could not have cared less! Nice location but poor quality food and zero service. Oh and they had no serviettes.
