Woodsman in Epping Forest

This pub is set in a beautiful location with fantastic views especially on a nice summer day. The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in & the food was amazing.

Went for surprise meal with my daughters very busy had to wait a long time for food and it was quite expensive for what it was , mine was quite tough and rubbery not sure if it was because it was extremely busy but the pub is very welcoming and a nice atmosphere

Lunch very disappointing. Skate was very nice but sat on a huge bed of aubergines with a tiny cube of potato and a few mushrooms. Pancakes were stone cold and obviously shop bought with no sign of lemon or sugar. Chicken Milanese tasteless and cold. Complete waste of money.

Ordered lamb roast dinner, when it arrived the vegetables was cold so sent it back, within 2 minutes it came back still not very hot and the meat was tough. I couldn't eat it, the staff apologised and I had something else which was ok and it was hot. They didn't charge us. Very disappointed.

Excellent food as always. We use this pub regularly and have done for a few years now. No faults whatsoever. Del Harper and family.

Lovely Sunday roast, excellent sticky toffee pudding and great service. The food portions were very big and super filling. The staff were lovely as well.

Lovely drive out to the countryside from London. Pub dated back couple hundred years, nice history connection in the pub. Good selection of food, house specials & variety of drinks from drafts, ales, cider & cocktails. Very good service & following covid rules, social distancing & wearing masks. If weather was good, than plenty outdoor space available & great view of greenery. Reasonable prices. Thought cocktails bit pricey.

Amazing views lovely friendly staff. Vegan 🌱 and gluten free menu. Great value too. Will be back many times over the summer!

Enjoyed a nice pub lunch here. Beer garden is huge. Good place to bring kids. Nice family pub. I had the prawn salad which was very filling due to large size. They have social distancing in place, only allowing one person in to order food and drink. Would definitely come back.

Good selection on the menu, friendly and efficient service. Food was great. Nice relaxed atmosphere and very covid aware. Large garden too and plenty of car parking. Would recommend and will definitely go back 👍
