Back in Time in Fenland

Went there second time and the burger, chips, coleslaw and New York Cheesecake is fantastic! Lots of people was there and look busy.Will back again!

Had a meal at this place last night while visiting Chelmsford for work. Whole experience was very good, from booking over phone to arrival and greeting to food and pleasant attentive waiting staff. Friendly place with v nice atmosphere - good soundtrack and excellent food served hot and quickly. Big portions. It was busy and buzzing on a Wednesday night. I'd certainly go again and would recommend it.

Very noisy. Food came out of kitchen at edible temperature but soon went cold. Burger was more bread than burger, also rather than a juicy burger it was rather crunchy an Interesting experience to eat. Not a very big table for 5 adults and a small child tucked away in a corner . If you're not family then you are very cramped

First visit here and will highly recommend you go. Food is superb, staff are fun, knowledgeable a make your night. Great American style restaurant, music selection was good and nicely decorated. Have a cocktail or two and your in for a great night.

Friendly staff, fab food, even swapped the strawberry ice cream for vanilla for my son's dessert 🍦

Been here many times back in the 80's / 90's when I was little and have some great memories of the place. I'd forgotten how fun it is.Had a really lovely evening with my husband and our little daughter.Great restaurant for families.We were made to feel very welcome and was well looked after. The staff were excellent.Food was good and the food coming out of the kitchen for other tables looked really good as well. I had the ribs, they could have had a little more BBQ sauce but I'm being picky plus I love BBQ sauce! My husbands chicken fell off the bone it was that well cooked.We will most certainly be back. It was the perfect way to end our Christmas break.

Me and my family had a great time here. Happy staff warm welcome and great food. If anyone was thinking about going here I'd say definitely do it. Epic night

Had a good experience eating here.A warm welcome on arriving & given a choice between two tables to sit.Polite staff that were attentive throughout our meal. Lively atmosphere.Food was gorgeous with generous portions & great menu choices.Not wishing to add any negative, but unless you sat on the bench seating we found the chairs a bit uncomfortable.Will definitely return here for another delicious meal. Back Inn Time is a hidden gem in Chelmsford- literally. Why anyone keeps trying to get it knocked down is beyond me.It is a wonderful family restaurant which is such a joy to visit. We are always made to feel welcome.The food is amazing, they cater for gluten free options which look as great as the regular meals. The cocktails were delicious and my children loved that they could have some alcohol free ones too! My only negative on the food is that the chips were too over cooked for me, I prefer them softer and fluffier.As long as the people keep having their say this will be a restaurant we continue to visit for years to come.
