Friendly pub food with wide selection available. Mixed grill was huge, great value and good quality. Lamb cutlets also a good choice.. Burgers less enjoyable - cibatta breadcakes instead of regular burger buns was not a good idea for handheld fast food.

Popped in for Sunday lunch on our holiday travels from Scotland. The roasts dinners were plentiful, pleasant, sensibly priced and nice surroundings to enjoy our meal. We'll done to the team for your welcoming pleasant manners.

Staff greeted us upon arrival on a Saturday lunch time (we didn't have a booking). Food came in decent time and was absolutely delicious! I had a jacket potato with coleslaw (coleslaw was not on the menu but we asked and they enthusiastically provided), my mother had the scampi and said the batter was so light and beautifully cooked. We were pleasantly surprised at the total cost of our meals and staff were absolutely lovely. Will definitely be returning when next in the area.

First time out for a long time, excellent service and food at Red Lion. I had the belly pork from the specials board. Visited again last night and felt comfortable and safe.

We had a three course Christmas dinner in the evening first time eating out for over a year and of all the places we could have gone so glad we went here as we had a wonderful mealBest to pre-book but they do have some tables for those last minute nights outThe place has great staff ,a good meau and lots of charm and is not over crowded but holds a welcome feel when fullThey do a good range of beers and have a car park at the rear , are we going back ??Yes we will , and once you have been so will you

We found the place by chance when visiting NT Peckover House. What a find. We were greeted warmly, offered a wide ranging menu. The food was well cooked and well priced. The place is comfortable, friendly, relaxed, the staff efficient and helpful. A pub lunch doesn't get any better.
