The Maltings in Fenland

One of the worst tasting curry ive ever had. Wouldn’t even give it the dog.

It’s such a shame, the maltings used to be a great takeaway, but I think they must have changed owners a while ago I have given it another chance 4 times in the last year or more tbh prob since before covid and it’s never decent regardless of what time or day. The food is either disgusting or stone cold and horrible.

Not good at all. The sweet and sour chicken balls were very doughy and under cooked, very poor quality and a bland meal overall, we left most of it. Very disappointed.

Used to be great but recently, the quality has dropped. Very watery, and the taste has changed. Also, every time we order, there's always something missing from the order. Now when we order, we guess what's going to be left off. Tonight, we have visitors and placed an order. The order arrived with 2 items missing. When I telephoned I discovered one of the missing items was my fault. However, I was asked if they could credit me the missing item that was their fault. I said no because we had guests and it wasnone of the guests' meal. They agreed to cook it and send it round asap. I asked if they could also do the item I'd missed and she asked for my card details. I said after all the missing items we've had I thought they'd do it as a gesture of goodwill. She went to ask her manager who said no. The missing order eventually turned up 30 minutes later. There's an expression that landlords use just before closing time, "Last Orders", unfortunately this will be mine.

So bad most of our order went in the bin. Both meals we're overcooked and had very strange taste after a few bites neither of us could eat any more. Definitely will not go there again

First time visit, reading some of the recent reviews I was a bit apprehensive. I needn’t of been worried the food was flavoursome, prepared quickly and a good temperature. It did appear a little expensive but when I saw the size of the portions it actually represented very good value.

The chicken was frozen and you could tell it wasn’t fresh chicken as I’ve brought the same from Iceland before 🤦🏼‍♀️ The chips may as well been a bag of grease and the chips where so crispy and greasy you just couldn’t eat them. We then had egg fried rice and when it turned up it was brown not impressed as the order was 23 quid and just eat took a service charge for a service in my opinion we didn’t receive

Have held off writing a review about Maltings but, the time has come. I always used to get food here..it was always consistently good. Good portions, well cooked and tasty....then, disaster...for some reason it all went pear shaped. Food became greasy to undercooked or tough as a Dr. Martens sole....they put prices up and service got worse, quality got worse and the girls on the desk are more interested in their damn mobile phones than working....gone from 5 stars down to 1 star and they only got one star because NO STARS isn't an option.

Thought I would try the food here after trying most Chinese takeaways in Whittlesey, this one is by far the worst. Everything was over cooked, had to sort through the chips to find some decent ones, there wasn't many! Prawn toast was like card bord and the chow mein was tasteless and over cooked. Also chicken in the sweet and sour Cantonese style was really cooked and chewy. When I got there to collect there was no Chinese person in sight, just a young teenage girl messing about and giggling with her mates that were in the kitchen. Doesn't look good really. I have written this review as honestly as possible. I would avoid it and go to mandarin around the corner!
