We stayed here for just one Friday night. The evening meal was lovely, The Packhorse has a small but interesting menu and our meal was delicious, the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the staff are friendly and welcoming as they are at every hotel in the group. We have stayed and eaten at many of the Chestnut Group hotels and the Packhorse is our new favourite and can’t wait to return.

I stayed over at the packhorse inn for an early valentine break away but also to propose to my girlfriend who is now my fiancé.I have communicated with the hotel for around a month before my stay to prepare the decorations in the room for the proposal and they have done absolutely fantastic with the room, it couldn’t be any better! In addition, they have left us a box of chocolate, champagne and a brownie desert for our engagement. I would like to thank all the staff and the housekeeping team for making this happen. I couldn’t have done this without them!I would also like to say that our stay at the packhorse inn have been the best, the room was spectacular also the food and breakfast was amazing. I would certainly come back there again and highly recommend staying at the packhorse inn! You’ll have no regrets!

Fantastic? The staff, food, building, location and even the toilets were brilliant. We had a large room to ourselves as we had a bug group. All the staff wore masks and made us feel safe and welcomed. The staff had lots of knowledge of the menu and could answer all of the questions we asked. We bought a cake and they were more than happy to supply plates and a knife.I would definitely go again! Thank you

We stopped in for lunch today, two adults two children and were so impressed. The shoulder of lamb was up there with any top restaurant in London and the service (and every interaction with the staff) was top notch. The attention to detail in everything is clear and the location is stunning.

Stunning setting, beautiful building and wonderful food but very slow poor service with staff taking a long time to take orders and serve the drinks. But of a shame when charging so much and in a lovely setting. customer service is key but was forgotten.

Amazing food with equally as amazing service last night. Sorry I'm not sure of the gentleman's name but I know he was French. He had us feeling relaxed and laughing all evening, even though they were extremely busy. The best service we've had anywhere in a very long time. We drove over 30mins in bitterly cold, wet weather but the food was certainly worth the drive and we hope to go back. They even made a little something for my husband's birthday which was a pleasant surprise. Food and drinks aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. We couldn't complain about any of it, it was all top quality. The only problem we had was trying to park but as soon as you enter, you can understand why the car park was so full with the food and service you receive, it's obviously very popular. Thanks for a lovely evening Packhorse Inn.

Amazing! I've been to The Ritz, The Goring, and regularly visit The Stafford and I'm not joking this was a fantastic meal on par with those 5 Star, world class hotels.I cannot wait to visit again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. A warm welcome to guests and equally their dogs. We sat outside in the small enclosed garden but dogs are welcome indoors too. There is even a dog food snack menu! The human food was delicious. My husband and I had a fish sharing platter and a side of truffle chips. Very fresh and extremely tasty. I would definitely recommend and hope to have a reason to be near Moulton again so that we can return!

The dream country pub! Visited in on the way to Bury, and it is a beautiful setting with lovely decor. The team were all very friendly and informative - I'll definitely stay for food next time I am passing.
