Crystal Fish Bar in Great Yarmouth

I'm sure this place is under new management, a year or so ago it was brilliant, the cod was pure white and flaky, chunky and fresh, lightly battered and no grease or excess water, the chips were cooked to perfection, it's nothing like that anymore, now you get greasy, over cooked fish, batter thats like tree bark, under cooked chips that leave a film of grease in the mouth, and the portions are half the size to what they used to be. Bring this place back to how it used to be, otherwise its demise is inevitable. PJs fish bar just down the road is far superior.

This was in no doubt the worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life. The fish was full of salt soggy not fresh and questionably haddock!!! The chips are vile. Dry like oven chips. Hideous

Best fish and chips in town

I'm really sorry to say i had Cod and chips and the Cod wasn't cooked through properly and the batter was really soggy. Chips were lovely. l

We have just had our haddock n chips n mushy peas delivered, this chippy deserves nomination for chip shop award. I am not kidding when I say, the freshest fish with not a drop of grease, it was incredible... I can highly recommend giving them a try.Well done Crystal and keep up those perfect standards.

Amazing quality fish and chips. You actually get what you order.. Large cod and chips?.. You get large cod and chips. Other chippies should follow their example of Great quality, Great value and Great portions.. I've waited 20yrs for a decent chip shop like this that doesn't try to palm you off with tiddly little portions of greasy rubbish for stupid prices.. Well done.. Keep up this good old-fashioned, great value and courteous service that's been absent for so long.

The fish and chips here are the BEST I have ever had! I’m not local and was just visiting on holiday but when I visit Great Yarmouth again I will most definitely be popping to Crystal Fish Bar again, just delicious!!

Best chippy we've been to for a while. The chicken fillet burger was tasty and cooked perfectly. The chips were equally as nice. Seemed like a very well family run business. Recommend anyone to order from here.

Out of all the fish and chip places we could have gone to I'm so glad we went to Crystal! They food here is so lovely and filling, we had the chicken burger and fish cake which were so nice. The chips are the best I've had in a good while!
