Doggers Plaice in Great Yarmouth

A loveley fish and chip shop. Had rock and cod and chips and battered sausages. Fresh and the best. Very good prices. Its a 2 min walk from caister on sea haven. Opposite the site. Must try you wont be disappointed.

Freshly cooked food. Chips tasted divine. Clean and staff very friendly

Lovely bit of fish and tasty chips we waited for this place to open just to try it and we were not disappointed. The curry sauce lived up to its reputation and the fish was lovely fresh and just cooked to perfection. We will definitely be visiting again and was cheaper.fpr.the 3 of us to eat here than it was for 2 at home and far far far more tastyAs I said we would be back mother in law decided that it was to be fish and chips again and boy we were glad we did she got her piece of skate and thoroughly enjoyed it 😅😅😅😅 wish I could leave more stars if your visiting Great Yarmouth visit Doggers Plaice you will not be disappointed 10/10 ladies thanks again

Best chippy I've had since I was a kid, and I'm in my 40s now. The cod flaked in lovely, big, white chunks, evidently VERY fresh, and was cooked to order. So tasty and milky. Plus over £2 cheaper than a chippy I know 160 miles inland! Excellent batter too, and the chips are just great. Friendly staff, happy to chat to a visitor. Also labelled everything up in a perfectly legible manner, which makes a change for a takeout. Proper traditional chip shop with a great, concise menu and fair prices for the location. Make sure you take cash though as it is CASH ONLY. There's a free cashpoint on the Haven campsite a few hundred yards away so no issue with that. Do NOT miss this wee chippy, it's the absolute best in the area.

So I had been recommended to come here, mabe we just got there too late, or on a bad day. So I arrived to find it was cash only, so I put my order in and ran to the closest cash machine. It looked like they were packing up, in abit of a rush to go home. Wasn't overly friendly, the fish was alittle dry to be honest. I'm sure if I had got there earlier it would have been more fresh.The shop was spotless. And had a massive queue of regulars. X

Delicious food and quick service. Unable to compare to other fish and chip shops as we are not local, but would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in on Friday and Saturday night as were staying on the haven site opposite. Beautiful freshly cooked fish and chips on the first night, fish, chips, battered sausage, fish cake , mushy peas and the best tasting curry sauce i have tasted in years from a chippy! Great polite and efficient service from the staff too. Definitely reccomend and will be back when in the area! Thank you!

I'm so glad we got our fish and chips from here. We're staying on the Haven site over the road from here and decided to try this place rather than the one site. We had a large cod, fish bites (it says 8 on the menu but I'm sure there were at least 10 and some were huge) and a large portion of chips between 2 of us and we couldn't eat it all! The lady who served me was welcoming and friendly and another lady asked what I wanted cooking as soon as I walked in. It was good to know that the fish was cooked freshly to order. My cod was delicious and flaky and my husband enjoyed the fish bites. He's got 4 left for tomorrow! Another customer was told that you can have 4 fish bites instead of 8 - perfect for children. The prices were excellent and we'll definitely use this chip shop agsin when we visit the area.

Decided to try Doggers Plaice after a recommendation and good reviews.Turned up at a reasonable time as I saw they keep limited hours. Placed an order a waited for our fish to be fried. Only 2 other customers when we arrived. Was kept waiting and waiting while they seemed to be serving everyone else. Was asked twice to repeat our order of a simple large cod and chips and Rock and chips. As we stood waiting we saw some good looking pieces of fish being served so thought it would be worth the wait. Eventually got our order and paid and headed back. When we opened our food i was met with a small soggy piece of Cod certainly not a large and substandard to what we saw in the shop. Really disappointed. Don't know if it was something to do with us not being local but hoped for better.Had a meal from a different shop in town earlier in the week and found them better.Won't be rushing back to Doggers Plaice anytime soon.
