Golden Fish in Great Yarmouth

I am 45yrs old and only just found this place, best takeaway of fish n chips I've had in my life. Pity I'm only here for 2 wks an live 200 miles away. Thank you!.👌

Just had a takeaway from here, omg disgusting isn't the word, stay clear, don't waste your money, beef is like chewing on rubber and the noodles are like mush. All the food we ordered was bland. If you on a holiday park have a kebab instead its safer.🤢🤢🤢

Not the best but not.the worst either. Looks quite a bit dated and in need of some tlc. Worst part was waiting for our order . Nothing extravagant just fish and chips , maybe they are quicker with the Chinese food. Another customer actually had to ask how long as the poor lady had stated she'd already waited 20 mins . On returning to our van fish and chips were OK enough for what we paid . Staff pleasant enough. The English delivery driver does a good job with helping them out . She knows her stuff so credit to her . Unfortunately not a lot at all in burgh castle to choose from..

Avoid!If I could give zero stars…!At least 20% more expensive than our local Chinese and over half the portion size. Throw in a burnt taste, greasy and weird flavours and you just feel well and truly ripped off!

Lovely food. We had sweet and sour prawns Hong Kong style and Kung Po chicken. Large portions and good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent.

Popped in as the food at the local camp site was way too expensive and dire. The grass is not always greener on the other side. The. Crispy pancake rolls were so full of grease, very unpleasant indeed. My chips were good in portion size and just ok in taste. My curry was so, so bland and had very little flavour indeed. The staff were nice and polite. The place needs a bit of attention as it does look like a truckers greasy spoon.

Was apprehensive because of the mixed reviews however, it was AMAZING! We ordered the Peking Crispy Beef, Chicken Chow Mein, a combination meal (sweet and sour hong kong style, barbecue ribs and fried noodles), vegetable spring rolls and prawn crackers. Portion sizes were great for the price and the food was hot, with plenty of meat and veg. The is the best Chinese I have ever had. The delivery was also brilliant, they brought it direct to our caravan!

During our holiday, one night we decided that we fancied a Chinese.We knew we had passed one while out and luckily someone in the past had taken a photo so we were able to get the name!We then Googled it to obtain a menu and did find one, although it was not the best of easiest to read! So we decided what we all wanted, with backups just in case and then my wife and I drove down.It is only a small place but there is parking.Inside we were able to place our order straight away with 2 people waiting before us.The menu is very substantial and I think they actually offer everything possible and then some.They are also open 7 days a week and offer delivery with a charge depending on distance.We waited about 20 mins for our order and were also given a free bottle of pepsi and prawn crackers.When we returned to our van with the 5 meals, everything was there that we ordered and was very hot so you could tell it has just been cooked! The portion sizes were extremely good and the food excellent.There was no food left at all, not even a grain of rice; however, there were bones left from the ribs!!!😜After finishing and cleaning up, we discovered they are on Just Eat ... So we could have looked at the menu on there easily, but never mind!!!💯% recommend this place for food, as mentioned above, quality, portion size, temperature etc. was fantastic!!! ... A must have

Ordered fish & chips as that's what we fancied. Was told half hour wait after our money was taken. Fish was surprisingly good after reading some reviews, however chips let it down in a big way. Not traditional chip shop or Chinese takeaway chips more like undercooked oven chips, so bit disappointing overall. Would return to try the Chinese next time but definitely avoid the chips withanything.

The golden fish is my favourite chinese take away. Friendly staff and great food . Their pancake rolls are unbelievably good, so large and full. I have never had a bad meal from them.
