Lion & Herring in Great Yarmouth

Lovely Fish and Chips just a shame that when you eat in that your food isn't served on a plate our Food was on the polestyirene container like you get at Macdonald's!!!

Miserable staff who don't smile back at you and throw your food down "here you go."Toilets had urine all over and on the floor, no offer of cleaning it up so me and my family could use them.Chips not proper chippy chips. My veggie burger was in a dry stale bun with no salad veg. Ketchup is 10p a sachet. My burger was covered in MSG salt which was very unusual.Plastic cutlery and too small polystyrene plates.

Curry sauce was powder,chips tasted like oven chips. Stuff was grumpy face and wasn't very helpful,,brushing the floor while we were eating. Not worth one star. I do not recommend this shop as you will not enjoy and have a bad experience. Don't waste your money.

The two young ladies that served us Monday 11/04/22 was so miserable. I attempted to encourage them both to smile. One of them smiled and the other young lady turned her back to us. Very unprofessional,. The fish and chips was quite nice. . I will not go back there due to two miserable ladies.

First time I've been here but was very impressed, bought haddock & chips takeaway, it was very nice, cooked to order, crispy thin batter and nice chips. Will certainly be coming back. Been back several times, always excellent. 👍

My own experience was not great, chips were barley warm, roll was dry and hard around the edges and I was made to feel very out of place just by even going in there for food.... the prices seemed ok and had a good selection on the menu.

The food came quickly, the shop was empty. We found the food quite greasy. Looked good but the cod was dark inside and did not flake. Toilets tatty and not accessible; double doors that open opposite to each other.

It's where the locals go, but it's a bit greasy. Infinitely better than most in town. Proper chip and fish portions

Top notch fish and chip shop with great tasting haddock and the chips taste great and fresh.For the price i certainly got more than i bargained for.I will definately come here again on my next trip to Yarmouth.

Just had a lovely 'big' portion of cod and chips. Always a beautifully cooked piece of cod 'huge'! Chips nearly always good though sometimes bit dry lacking in taste, prob down to the spuds used but always cooked how we like em - brown! Not pale and under cooked like some do them. And good value for the portion size.We always come for ride out and get our treat from here. Lovely happy staff. Polite to. And a loo - as most along front where closed and was desperate! 👍😁
