The Dukes Head Pub in Great Yarmouth

Steeped in history. Well worth a visit. Black Shuck the phantom dog of East Anglia was said to have been captured in the cellar here. Music events too.

Turned up last night to come see drag artist perform, I was shocked when I walked in and can only describe it as a pop up bar. The pictures online look better but in reality it's a dive. The drag queen needs a different pub to perform ur much better than that pub.

Remembering this establishment when former friends Jenny and Barry were landlady/landlord in the early/mid 1980’s where we stayed in the rooms upstairs overlooking the backyard which was the scene of a hanging of a young girl in a previous century. This pub is steeped in history and is actually haunted by the said young girl. I’ve been back just a couple of times since and like everything else, has changed, not for the better in my opinion.

Ordered some roast dinner takeaways. When delivered they were still very hot. Food was great will be using again for sure. Great find

A brilliant discovery. You are made to feel exceptionally welcome. Super drink deals and the food I saw others eating looked absolutely lovely. The bar staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is just great.

Warm, friendly and fantastic value for money.Lovely duo who host most events and are there to welcome customers old and new. Food is delicious and on deals Mon/tues/weds. Reccomend the chunky chips and homemade pizzas.Large cocktail menu and full of atmosphere which is hard to find in the current climate.

Even in these pandemic days, the Dukes Head is friendly, welcoming and a very fine place to stop. Even just for a quick coffee on the way home, it's a veritable palace of respect and friendship, to be admired in Great Yarmouth.
