What a great little area with shops and this place which had a lovely breakfast. If I'm in the area I'll be coming back for more.

Soup and sandwich a very good deal and soup only comes with a lovely warm roll. Chips are on the dry side

The little enclave of retailers at Battlers Green is quaint and The Bull Pen offers both in & outdoor covered seating. The service at The Bull Pen was friendly and efficient but my first (& last) visit was certainly underwhelming. The tea, whilst at least loose-leaf, is severely limited in choice; the most exciting being your standard Earl Grey! The coffee, espresso, was enjoyable but quite pricey for a single! If the loose-leaf tea choices were expanded we would consider visiting again; but really it is a restaurant not a tearoom as the name suggests.

This place is a firm favourite in my family, most recently we were there on Saturday 2nd April. The service was excellent, ordering was straight forward, serving time was great, and the food - oh man, the food was 🏻 *chefs kiss* I ordered scrambled egg, sausages, toast and tea. That is pretty simple food but I swear it was the best scrambled egg, sausages, toast and tea I’ve ever tasted 😂 how did they do that? It was all so delicious, I keep thinking about it, so came here to tell people about it 🤷🏻♀️😋

Great place for a weekend English breakfast. Quality food and good service. Pet friendly outside seating area. Plenty parking and local shops are non chain, individual and interesting.

Lovely place. Coffee was delicious. Can't wait to go back and eat there as everything that came out of the kitchen looked tempting. Menu has lots of options

Shocked at the service in here, rude and ignored. Asked to speak to a manger and a different girl was sent over as manager but wasn't?! The manager was sat next to us and proceeded to argue with my daughter giving excuses whilst still sitting down! He said his staff are foreign and over-worked! I said perhaps he shouldn't over-work his staff. All I wanted was avocado - hilarious, Basil Fawlty style. Felt bad for the waitress who was lovely but will never return and highly recommend you try somewhere else, great local places only a short drive away.

I think this place is popular because of it's location, which gives the impression of getting away from Watford and Borehamwood, to a middle-class oasis of expensive shops.Nestled in the corner of Battlers Green shopping village, the large converted barn keep some integrity within its ceiling but doesn't make full use of its potential to have a more rustic feel with the tables and chairs. Our chocolate cake came in a generous portion which my human and I could not finish. It was a little dry.The staff is polite but not as friendly as a teddy bear would have hoped for.Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays is half-price (at least at the time we were there around 11.30 or noon).Looking at other people's food, we would maybe go back there on half-price days but not have cake.

Battlers green farm has a great butchers as well as small shops etc The restaurant is busy but you don't have to wait too long. The food is very good and there's a good choice. The staff are friendly but the service a little slow. The deserts are huge so leave room. Not too expensive compared with places of similar quality.Just popped in for a coffee and cake. There's now a new extension to the restaurant making it almost twice as big.
