The Cavendish Restaurant in Hertsmere

Very disappointed as this was my birthday dinner and had brought some with us. The service was deplorable and it took ages for our meals to come and when they arrived, they were stone cold. We arrived at 7:15pm and the starter wasn't served until 8:20. I asked to the waiter when were we going to be served? His answer was appalling, "we were the the wedding party next door" and yet the main restaurant we were was full of people, all of whom were complaining about the service. Some even sent their food back again as it was too cold on arrival. We hardly saw waiters in the main restaurant. My husband had to go out and tell people when our drinks needed to be replished. We have been to this restaurant 3 times before but I must the standards have dropped dramatically. I don't believe we will be coming again and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my friends or relatives. We only had two course s each and it was almost 10pm when left.To top it off the main restaurant was freezing cold and kept my coat on wand it was highly uncomfortable. Dr A Martin and Mrs C Martin.
