The Red Lion Hotel in Hertsmere

This is a lovely pub but a little pricey. There is an outside seating area which is nice. Some of the staff were friendlier and more helpful than others. The function room to hire is very expensive... I was told that it is £20 per head (not including anything: just for the room!) and it holds 80 people.

Great location for darting into/out of London. Great rooms & good parking.

Apparently the only pub in radlet, booze, food and rooms good!

As a hotel, 4 stars. Clean and comfy. However, no breakfast tea, only fruit tea and the double room was 2 singles pushed together with single quilts, not great for a couple who sleep snuggled together.As a pub, 2 stars. Great food with good beer, but a little pricey. They advertise rugby on tv, but you can't enjoy it on the little tv with the loud disco and rap music. Too loud to talk and ended up taking drinks to the room. Would suit a young couple, but not those hoping to enjoy an evening of conversation

Visited on Wed afternoon with my Sister, her daughter and grandchildren. Had a lovely lunch. Problem with one of Halloumi sides being overdone was immediately rectified and eaten. Staff were very nice. Definitely worth a visit

Stayed here when attending a wedding at Shenley Cricket Club. Lovely room - felt like a boutique hotel - slightly unexpected in the centre of Radlett. Simona gave us the warmest welcome on check-in, check-out and during breakfast service.The car park has a security barrier, requiring you to call the pub to get the entry code, which is a slight nuisance but understandable, given that it is virtually opposite the mainline station.My only criticism is that breakfast wasn’t very warm, but the other positives make it deserving of five stars.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Room was well appointed, comfortable bed, good shower and clean.Room 5 has a very bright Emergency Exit light in it, which was a bit annoying at first - made me feel I was in a pond when I turned out the lights!!Breakfast was very good, cooked fresh and done very well!

We went for lunch as a family and ordered variety of food, which was absolutely delicious. The chicken and the beef roast was fantastic and offered generous portions. The vegan dishes were also lovely.The service was outstanding and caring, nothing was too much trouble and the management looked after us from beginning to end. Thank you very much Silvio, Simona and the whole team.

Popped through on Tuesday for dinner and was extremely impressed.Our waitress (who I believe started that day) was extremely helpful and couldn't do more. I also overheard the team talking and all seemed extremely happy.The Red Lion was clean, not too busy with a warm atmosphere.I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly and my partner and his sister had the chicken, again cooked perfectly.With its beautiful setting, inside and out, we have booked again for this coming Tuesday!I would highly recommend!

Slight issue at check in was quickly resolved and the staff could not have been more helpful.The food this evening was well cooked, served timely and fantastic quality for the price; and the beer was excellent. Much better than staying in London. Try this place and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the quality. Update on breakfast will have to wait until morning.
