Very decent food, attentive service even with a full restaurant and a private function. Plus large playground in the pub garden.

Popped on for a pint and a quick bite when on a circular walk from stives. Friendly staff, great beer as they had a mini beer festival on over the jubilee weekend. Lunch was great and we had a variety of dishes at the table. Recommend

I visited the pub on Friday at 12pm. I ordered a coronation chicken sandwich on white bread, my friend ordered fish cakes. The sandwich bread arrived hard and dry which must have been noticed whilst preparing! I could also see clearly the lack of filling judging by the absence around the edges and very little chicken in general, I pointed out the lack of freshness to the waitress and I asked for a replacement which she did and apologised. I hoped that the second sandwich would be generally much better. The replacement bread felt slightly fresher but the filling was scant, which was very visibly evident. In addition, their was unfresh, slimy green bits in the garnish. At 12pm I don't feel their was any good reason for the poor quality as there was no one else in the pub at the time! As I was with a friend, naturally I didn't want to complain for a second time and embarrass him, as he was buying the sandwich for me. No complaints for the bar service. The bar lady is very helpful and polite. Its a shame and very disappointing though, I used to work in this pub and was so proud of the quality of food.

Went on steak night, but chose other dishes. Quality reasonable, prices affordable, service good. Very pretty village and real country environment.

Used the pub as our start / finish point on the St Ives 6 mile circular loop. Arrived back at 3.45pm just in time for last orders for Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and friendly service.

We visited this pub for lunch with reasonably high hopes as the other reviews were good. Unfortunately our experience was less than great. Thai fish cakes which hadn’t been defrosted properly and were soggy on the inside and burnt in the outside, a cheese sandwich which had obviously been left out too long as the bread had started to go hard and mash potato that had been packed with mustard which was not even mentioned on the menu. This meal took an hour to arrive with nobody coming out to apologise for the delay or apologise when it was delivered. We returned the £16 meal with the mashed potato and ordered something different, left the Thai fishcakes and filled up on the cheese sandwich and chips for £38! I have no idea how you get three meals wrong. Luckily the baked Brie ordered as a replacement was fine. Will not be returning to this pub unfortunately ☹️

Staying locally for the night and thought we'd try one of the local pub restaurants we could walk too. The A&C was well worth the walk. Lovely dining area, good service and very nice food. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again when next in the area.

Good beer and staff always friendly and on-pointNot eaten there yet so cannot contribute on this. Large garden area and seating outside to front and rear in a lively village setting

I’ve lived in the area for more than 10 years and have always rated this pub highly, having visited on many occasions. Sadly this time my experience was not so good. I had been planning a visit for some weeks as i had previous spotted one of my favourite dishes on the menu. I am writing this review at 6am as I cannot sleep due to the indigestion caused as a result of eating there yesterday evening. Whilst I understand you can’t expect Sword fish to be fresh, the wizened little piece of tasteless, overcooked and salty fish served up was very disappointing. I did not complain as I was busy catching up with my friend over dinner and we had limited time. When settling the bill the waitress admitted maths wasn’t her strong point when we asked to split the £63.70 bill down the middle. To make it simple I suggested I pay £33.70 and my friend pay £30. I was charged £43.70 and she then tried to charge my friend £30!! I was too embarrassed to make her rectify her mistake and asked her to charge him £20. She clearly couldn’t manage basic arithmetic. I won’t be returning in a hurry I’m afraid!

Almost perfect Sunday lunch in a really charming little village pub. We arrived ages before our booking but they seated us within minutes. Sunday Roast was amazing, just a shame we couldn't have the starters we wanted as they'd already run out at 2pm and hadn't taken them off the boards. We also ordered red wine that was cold and when we asked for a warm bottle, they definitely just put it somewhere warm for 5 minutes - the bottle was warm but the wine wasn't.
