Was at the Cuckoo last night with my partner for a bite to eat. Atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were lovely. What I did notice was the quality of the food. Didnt seem like a microwave chef had made it. Thanks guys and thanks for the chat at the bar with the bald guy. Think he said his name was Peter?

If you have allergies or intolerance to certain foods don’t book here to eat, the food choices are poor, I have a gluten and dairy allergy and hardly had anything to choose from, I ended up ordering the house burger with no bun and added bacon to it to compensate for the lack of bun (not sure why they can’t stock gluten free buns most places do) what arrived shocked myself and the rest of the table, so imagine a dinner plate with a little pot of fries, a burger patty and 1 tiny streaky bit of bacon (£1.95) and that was your meal !!!! And when I complained they added a little bit of salad and another bit of bacon that was hardly cooked so very fatty. There is no need for such poor quality and choice of food, you can go into most restaurants and have a fabulous selection of gluten free and dairy free food available, I think this is something this restaurant really needs to invest in, I won’t be returning

A popular choice for meeting up, dining etc always enjoy. Sat in a different area this evening. Everything good as usual But wasn't keen on the lighting. Low shades, bright bulbs, not relaxing & squinting to talk with colleagues :( perhaps a lower wattage? Or heighten the shades?

Great service. Good menu with a good selection of fine food. Chips need cooking a little longer, mine were still hard but the rest of the meal was enjoyable

Me and my partner went here for a mid week meal. This is a lovely place, great atmosphere and excellent food. Staff are also very welcoming. We will definitely be making this a regular occurrence.

Good food. Lovely decor. As it is an old building a little cool sitting at the table but warmed up. Staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Will definitely visit again

Great food, great service. We had a issue with fishcakes being a little burnt. The waiter instantly brought me another one and gave us a complementary desert for the trouble.Food was lovely, well worth a visit

Had a terrible meal. Vegetables weren't cooked. They were hard. Sent veg back and cooked fresh again but still wasn't cooked enough! The food that was cooked was cold. Didn't pay for any of the food. Drinks were excellent. Won't be going back there to eat food.

This is our 4th visit... the staff are lovely and friendly.... our 3rd visit wasn't great at all the food wasn't good... however as we had 2 previously that were really nice we tried a sunday roast. meat was cooked lovely only thing i would suggest is i had 4 slices of beef... my husband had the trio of meats and literally only got 1slice of each which was small and the roast potatoes needed more roasting. other than that our server was Jordan who was very attentive and had good customer service.

A very nice pub, more expensive but the quality was higher.Beer; Wainwright's was nice and there was a good selection of lagers and wine. The house burger with skin on fries was lovely as was the duo of lamb. My mother said the fishcakes, with lobster was the best she'd ever had!The staff were very good and attentive.
