The Darjeeling in Huntingdonshire

DO NOT GO EVEN IF DESPERATE FOR FOOD!We ordered food via Uber Eats from this restaurant. Estimated delivery was between 7.30-7.50pm. When it came to 8pm we called the restaurant a number of times to no avail. Sent them a message to which they asked for details. We replied but received no response. Finally got through at 8.30pm and asked for a full refund because by this point, we were hungry and made a sandwich! I was told ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘we have been very busy’ but at no point did they make themselves accountable for the issue! They even said if you wait a bit more (no specific time) then food will arrive. I finally spoke to their manager and he said that the only way to get a refund is to contact Uber Eats directly - all this effort to receive a refund. Disappointed to say the least!

I ordered a take out last night. Sadly it arrived 2 hours late and cold. They are under new management so hopefully only teething problems. Going forward It would be advisable to inform customers of delays. It may avoid poor reviews.

2 hours after the order was placed and no sign of the food and keep being told. “Delivery left 5 minutes before and then having the phone put down on us” this is my first time ordering from this company and so far it’s shocking. I know it’s New Year’s Eve but come on!

The food took 2 hours to reach our door. When it states on line your waiting time, yes you would give a bit more time but up to 2 hours from order to get our delivery. Also being lied to from the restaurant staff saying that the food is on its way after 1 hour of waiting. When the delivery driver turned up I was told (they had just finished cooking the food) 10mins prior to the delivery being dropped. After trying to complain to the manager who was so rude cutting me or my partner up every time we went to speak. And also having the phone put down on my partner and I. We won’t be coming back to this terrible service. The food was terrible and cold.

Awful service. We had ordered food for delivery, 2 hours later it had not been delivered. We had to walk to the restaurant to collect our delivery. They advised that they were packing our order to deliver. 20 minutes later when we arrived at the restaurant to collect our food, they advised that it was STILL being prepared. We asked why they told us it was being packed for delivery when it wasn't even cooked yet, and they rolled their eyes at us and laughed, they were not apologetic at all and did not offer any compensation at all. When we finally got home with our order, the order was wrong. We called to complain but the restaurant did not answer, we saw when we collected our food that they left their phones off the docks as they did not want to take any calls. We finally got through to them after 35 attempts of calling, and they advised that we should call back tomorrow as they were too "busy" tonight. When we collected our order, there were only two groups of people in the entire restaurant. They refused to give us a refund for the incorrect food and inconvenience caused with the order. Extremely disappointed.

Very good food. Very friendly, good atmosphere. Service a bit slow but was 13 of us. Would recommend and go back happily

It was fairly busy but not maximum tables. The staff seen to be new or don't have much idea of working in a restaurant.I had to wait quite a while before my order was taken and then they questioned my order several times.My starter was a Rashmi kebab which when it arrived the kebab was burnt beyond recognition and extremely small.I also ordered Lamb korma mushroom rice and a parata. When it arrived it was not the best I have had (especially at the price).This might be a fantastic place to go if it is fairly empty but they get very stressed when busy.

I used to eat here back in 2009 then I moved away for a while. Was quite pleased to return and see the restaurant is still here. Great food and great service!! Will definitely return 🙌🏾

Chicken still cold and pink in the middle, rude member of staff on the phone trying to convince me that because it was and I quote “cooked twice” that it couldn’t possibly still be pink in the middle, he then also proceeded to tell me that chicken can be served pink in the middle.Delivery driver collected the meal in question and I was promised a refund, two weeks later I’m still yet to receive a refund.Coincidentally when visiting my barbers last week it turns out that he and his brother were feeling rather unwell after having had a takeaway from here the night before.

OK where to start, Haveing seen many recent good reviews we thought we would give the new Darjeeling under new management a try. We ordered online for collection for 6.00 pm acknowledgement received order available for collection 6.20 not a problem. While I was waiting for my order I thought I would also pick up a copy of latest special offers and menu. With plates ready on my arrival home and while starting to plate up we noticed some additional poppadoms not ordered nice start. Onion bhaji looked very nicec if a bit bland, it was only when eating I noticed they were very floury and not at all well cooked. The other starter Also Chat was all potatoes looking very aged overcooked with lots of sauce. The mains Tandoori Salmon with special request extra well cooked, well cooked, it was not the rest of the dish was very poor quality. Another Main and normally a favourite Chefs special murgi masala, mince was in large chunks chicken appeared to be some old tandoori chicken thrown in for good measure and as dry as dry with the sauce. Additions Saag Aloo more yellow translucent potatoes looking as if the time had been cooked out of the several days prior. Not of course forgetting the salad, brown and decaying. How could this get any Worse? Those online prices 19% more expensive than the menu prices are menu. Onion bhaji menus cost 3.45 online price 4.10, Murgi Masala menus price 9.95 online price over 11.80 and Tandoori Salmon from 12.95 to over 15.40 . I may have been unlucky with the food but the pricing is just wrong. The one star was for the extra popadoms if you were wondering, the food was all very poor with most going in the bin. Take away price before discount over £44.00.
