We had a Sunday lunch here, as it was just off of the A1 with a car park. The food was ok, with very limited substitutions for those with allergies. The dessert was excellent. The lady's toilet was dated and beyond grubby, there was not a lock on the door. The service staff were brilliant, kind and funny :)

We have been to The Lion Hotel many times and it never disappoints. The restaurant is steeped in history, and has comfortable seating with clean tables. The servers are very helpful and attentive, the chef is happy to accommodate any requests and the food is excellent.Highly recommended.

Good food has beer on tap. Seems the best selection in the village.

The hotel rooms were OK. They were a good size but the standard of decor could have been better. The food in the restaurant was very good with plenty of variety at good prices. Breakfast was included in the nightly rate. The selection of food was limited but the quality of food was as good as they served in the evening.

A hidden gem. Service was outstanding. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Meal was delicious. Restaurant service was relaxed but not a problem. Please note this is a 500 year old coaching house the floors are a bit uneven the ceilings can be low. It's called character do not expect glass, chrome, and perfection. I will have no hesitation in booking another stay in this piece of living history.

Traditional old inn. If you don't expect ultra modern rooms you won't be disappointed. This is a wonderful, historic inn, located in a pretty village. The restaurant is good and usually busy. They stop taking orders at about 8.45pm so beware. Service is excellent but can be slow when busy. The bar is well stocked with a good range of real ales, if that's your thing. Rooms are functional and beds are comfortable. You're getting a bit of old English history. If you are expecting a Holiday Inn you'll probably be disappointed. I will definitely be back!

This place is fine. It's 500 year old and has loads of character. I was in the annex rooms which are spacious, comfortable but a little tired. No air con,r oom really hot and stuffy and it was very noisy with windows open as the beer garden and car park are below. The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive and the quality of food exceeded my expectations. I didn't have time for breakfast but it looked good.
