A long time favourite, have frequented over the years, going back to the original building! Food as good as ever. My Stepmother enjoyed & it will be our meeting place for lunch from now on. See you soon!

Amazing food. Had the black pudding and poached egg starter. Roast sirloin main and the Rhubarb, ginger and hazelnut crumble for dessert. Everything on all 3 of my plates was delicious, already been recommending this place to my work colleagues!

Enjoyed an excellent Saturday Set Lunch menu today with friends. Lovely setting, attentive staff and good food. (BTW the hunting scene wallpaper is long gone replaced by more modern muted colours)

Lovely place, lovely service, amazing food! A traditional, recently refurbished pub with seasonal traditional food with a modern twist, friendly service, and excellent wine and beer options. We decided to try based on their reputation and we look forward to coming back with family and friends!

Great Sunday lunch. All had the pork which was tender and tasty. Perfectly cooked vegetables. I am always hesitant about having roast away from home, but this is the best I can remember. It’s not the cheapest but you pay for quality. Hope the new owners and team are able to make it a success as plan to come back.

I came here for Sunday lunch recently- the black pudding starter was excellent although it took quite a wait to turn up. The roast beef was very good however there were not many veg at all and the potatoes were as dry as a dog biscuit. Sitting in the restaurant area there was little to no atmosphere- largely just old people staring at each other in silence.Decent big car park out back and a nice village location.

Great food, poor value.I was here for a lunch on a Thursday.The grounds are beautifully sites, with paved back garden and gravel parking lot adjacent to a pasture. Hills are in the mid distance. Not terribly far from the A14, this is tucked away nicely.The food was fantastic. I had the cauliflower and cheese pie served with mash atop and a broccoli puree. The crust was flaky and the filling creamy and hot. I hate cauliflower, but I loved this.Dessert was a pavlova. Plump and crisp with a small assortment of berries and a lemony sauce. Light and refreshing and paired well with an espresso.With a beer, this ran me to 27£. This isn't good value for the money, and I asked a friend to confirm that feeling. He said: "it was overpriced. The price matched the establishment but the food quality didn't match the price." The (vegetarian) pie was over 15£, it should probably be about 10-12£.My recommendation: the food is great. But go on a nice day when you can sit outside and enjoy the view, take a walk, and have good company (even if it's just yourself) treat the price for an event, not just a meal.

Our favourite new local via a walk across a field. Great beers, great food and service. The best place to sit outside in the sun with a pint of Nene Valley Bitter.

Re-opened, refurbished and back with a bang!A classic thatched country pub which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to more than its former glory, with new owners and new management. It now features a wonderful and sizeable pub garden with stunning views over the Cambridgeshire countryside - with the quaint addition of Highland Cows who seem to enjoy watching the customers!Having been for drinks and food now on a couple of occasions, the menu is sophisticated, tasty with plenty of variety. If you're enjoying a drink in the garden, for nibbles, I highly recommend the cheese fritters - they compliment a cool glass of Prosecco perfectly. There is an extensive wine list and a selection of cocktails on offer. Inside the pub, it's all olde world charm but with a modern twist - and as much I love the warm weather, I almost can't wait to see a roaring fire in the two fireplaces! The staff are friendly and welcoming - it's the sort of pub I'd be happy to go into on my own for a light lunch or just a drink. I can't wait to try their Sunday lunch which I've heard good things about already from those who have been! Considering it's a whole new team of people, the service understandably was a little bit slow as they were learning the ropes. However, on my last visit, I was impressed by how much slicker it was - they're obviously fast learners. Can't wait to go back and support this quality pub/restaurant.
