Fantastic food, very reasonably priced.Delivered by friendly & attentive staff.

·

Lovely gastro pub. Decor, staff and the new menu are all great. Well worth a visit. Top marks.

·

Lovely place, beautifully decorated and great ambience. I had a super main course for lunch, halloumi and roasted red pepper burger and chips £14.95. Starter of artisan bread and oil was disappointing however.2pm last orders for food is a bit of a pain too. Would still recommend though.

Enjoyed a nice lunch here today. Very pleasant. Food was good as was the service.

We will never eat there again due to their totally unreasonable behaviour with regard to a Mother’s Day booking my son made for 4 of us. He was asked to pay a £40 booking fee which he did. He came home from work unwell later in the week and tested positive for covid a couple of days later. I rang the Windmill to cancel the booking as we had all been in contact with him and I was told he would have to lose his deposit as the food had now been ordered !! I then asked if he could be given a voucher to come when he was well and the person I was speaking to consulted with the owners and they said no sorry it is non refundable. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered when we didn’t choose for him to be unwell and did what we considered to be the right thing, and it is only Thursday and they have 3 more days to give that booking to away. I have only rated them one star because I cannot give a review if I don’t give a rating I would choose otherwise to give them a resounding minus for communication and being the most unhelpful licensee ever. I must add that they have since had a change of heart and issue my son with a credit note

We had a lovely evening here yesterday. Lots of choice, the set menu was was varied and very good value, the food was well presented and tasted delicious, there was lovely atmosphere and the service was brilliant. Definitely recommended. Looking forward to going again soon.

I have been to the windmill many times, but not for a while. The last time I said never again. On a recent visit we walked in at 1420 and when I asked if we could order a drink, instead of being welcoming we were met with ‘we are, but we close at 3’. No smiles, no niceties and almost the hump because they were getting service 40 minutes before they closed.During the time we were there, the 2 staff members were clearing around us (and turned the lights off in one area) as well as talking loudly about bookings etc. It made a really poor atmosphere. At 1440 I then heard them discussing whether a table had left yet, to which one said to the other to just clean around them, I assume in an attempt to hurry people out. That is the last time I give the place a second chance. It has got no better over the years. So disappointing. Would not recommend.

Really lovely food although slightly disappointed by lack of any cocktails. Gin and tonic served beautifully though. Nice atmospherr and ambience and staff were lovely.

Great homemade food. Reasonable wine selection. All three front of house staff kept asking if everything was ok which it was but felt like they wanted us to hurry up. This was not the case but would have been better just being served by one of them.
