Shipwreck in Ipswich

How many times do I come down here to find the place unexpectedly closed again and again despite having checked the website that says it's open. The only reliable thing is that I won't be coming back.

Popped in for lunch & it was fabulous. The staff are really friendly and attentive. They were also working hard to keep everything clean and sanitised. I had the bacon & brie sandwich, which was delicious. It's always a delight when something quite simple is done so well. A delight all around.

I visited the shipwreck on a cool wet Friday. The pub was unsurprisingly very quiet. There were covered areas for use outside. Inside they were hand gels. As they went no other customers, our orders were taken quicky. Drinks with glide almost immediately. My friend and I ordered fish and chips which was delivered in under 10 minutes. The vittles where are very good, the prices where a little hi, but not unreasonable. I'll be happy to return in the future.

This place is a real gem the staff are lovely and friendly the food is delicious and the chips are amazingLovely views over the water the docks lit up at night are a site to behold and there is loads of parking and lovely walksWe stayed one night and the room was immaculate rainfall shower views over the sea to Harwich lovely fluffy towels and a big comfy bedWe even had a small fridge with milk OJ yogurts there were 2 boxes of cereals biscuits muffins to keep you going and of course tea coffee and hot chocolateWe will return again as it really is a lovely spot and would highly recommend

Had a lovely hot chocolate with all the trimmings and relaxed on a comfortable sofa. Never had a meal, so only 4 stars. Excellent, kind staff.

Tasty food ..we always have an enjoyable meal at The Shipwreck. Good choices on the menu and reasonably priced. Service very prompt. Sit indoors or outside on the terrace or the grass area. Recommend a visit. Lovely walk through the Marina and on the river wall with views of Felixstowe Container Port which is fascinating to watch. A great place to visit all round.

Very basic bland food. Should have guessed when I saw the shelf with sachets of sauces, s&p etc that there wouldn't be any salad trimmings or a nice bowl of tartar sauce with my scampi and chips. Perhaps they are in need of a chef. The nice part was sitting on the terrace in the sun.

Food is delicious, and reasonably priced. Menu is currently restricted to certain items, but we still have had a massive burger meal and beautifully cooked salmon. Great spot to have a relaxing walk after your meal accompanied by calming views of Shotley. Parking is not an issue either.

We had very nice lunchtime sandwiches and coffee sat in the sunshine. The sandwiches were freshly made accompanied by a side salad and were really good. We selected coffee in preference to traditional bar drinks and these were also enjoyable. The staff were pleasant and friendly which made the whole experience most enjoyable. Will definitely be returning in the future!

I paid 17£for the menu you see.Very dry burger,you have to pay extra for burger ad-ons,you get salad and chips 😠😠😠nothing else on the burger,basically you get a burger patty and bread for 11£
