Excellent service from all the staff at Toby's.Special mention to Richard the server and Tom the carvery chef. When we were selecting our veg, Tom commented that they had run out of swede but this would be available in 7 minutes time. Imagine our surprise when he brought to our table our own separate dish of freshly cooked swede and cauliflower cheese ...top man👍

Visited this evening for a meal with my husband and all I can say is what a mistake that was. For a carvery to not have carrots for one is ridiculous. The roast potatoes were that hard that they might as well have been frozen. They only had runner beans , cauliflower cheese and macaroni cheese for veg. The gravy when I actually located it, looked as though it had been there all day. Surely temp checks are supposed to be adhered to within food establishments to comply with food hygiene and health and safety regulations? The service was ok but customer service needs much improvement. The only thing I enjoyed was spending time with my husband. I will not recommend this carvery at all

The restaurant has had a makeover. It looks crisp and cozy. The atmosphere is very nice and intimate, family oriented. The food is good and up to expectations. The staff is working hard. It would be great if they had some more staff to see to the finishing touches.

Very poor customer service. We have been a family of 5 refused to seat on a table of 6(3 available). They reasoned that I do not have booking. I made a booking then still wasn't good enough. Apparently I should have done the booking ages ago. They never bothered to check what time where the bookings for. Then they said will arrange a table of 5 but didn't lift a finger. Moreover, instead to explain kindly and try to sort our table and make us comfortable they start arguing and get crossed. Saying the bookings were specifically for these tables but there is no option to book a specific table.I ended up to eat at a table of 4 with an extra chair in the top ot table and all people passed and pushed my chair 😡Finally, only one table of 6 was occupied by 6 people while we have been there and another table of six was occupied by a family of 3. Seriously????I was saying very poor customer service? No, actually rubbish cs.

Josie, you're a star. We ate there on a whim recently and this vibrant young lady looked after us brilliantly. The food was excellent, drinks just right and Covid care spot on.Thanks to a great team making this branch my current favourite Toby Carvery... sorry for the delay in reviewing!

Fabulous food and lovely staff, had a great experience but was spoilt by one thing, hence 4 not 5 stars. At one point during our meal, a strong smell of cigarette smoke wafted through the whole restaurant. This was no doubt from the door being opened while people were out the front smoking. Hard one to solve but did spoil an otherwise lovely meal.

Always delivering.. have stayed in the Premier Inns for many years on my travels.. a great budget hoteliers.. breakfast is just amazing, freshly cooked (and not kept for long periods as like some) perhaps a suggestion to add a few healthy things to lunches etc.. everything seems to come with chips these day's without much alternative.. but hey.. a great place and friendly staff..

Visited the Carvery for dinner today and we experienced lovely friendly service from our server Josie. The smiliest and loveliest lady. It was refreshing to have such a personal experience with a very polite server, it’s rare. Definitely 10/10 for service. The Carvery overall was okay, a generous portion of meat. However, The food as a whole was a little dry and gravy was evidently old. Great experience. Thanks again Josie!

Fantastic clean pub with friendly staff. The carvery was brilliant apart from the roast potatoes which were small and a bit hard. I've taken a star away because our drinks turned up really late (nearly eaten our meal before the drinks arrived). I believe this is because the place is unfortunately really short staffed, causing the waitresses to take on too many tables and have to make their own drinks due to no bar staff. I think Toby Carvery could improve this by either recruiting more staff or taking less bookings if the pub cannot handle it. That last improvement should give this full 5 stars as everything else is fantastic.

We understood that this place had just recently been refurbished and it definitely looks good inside. We had a breakfast this time instead of a carvery and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful
