Went here for a family meal, ordered burger and sticky toffee pudding. Frankly the meal was perfect, the wait time was small and the staff were super friendly. I would definitely come here again.

The friendliest staff & delicious food! Lovely interior (very cozy) & plenty of outdoor eating space. Plus a massive car park. The best part was how dog friendly this business is. My 2 pups were in puppy heaven with how much love they received. Highly recommend eating/drinking here!

Nice Restaurant/Pub in this historic village just off the North Norfolk Coast Road near Sandringham. The food is good and for Sunday lunch you're asked to order ahead. Dishes are good value for money. Our party had Roast Beef and Roast Pork as well as the Roast Butternut squash vegetarian option. All were very good indeed. They have a simple dessert menu that varies but all delicious. Unsure about wheelchair access but they have very modern, very clean loos. There is masses of parking and they are dog friendly!

A very pleasant place to spend a few hours. Good beer and welcoming staff. We didn't eat, more than peanuts, but the menu looked very interesting.

No words can add to perfection! Less is more...Quality, presentation, service, environment and ambience, ABSOLUTELY fabulous! Harry and his team excelled yet again, we travelled 95miles for the 2nd year from Leicestershire, a magical Christmas Day yet again, thank you so much to everyone at the Black Horse Castle Rising...Handmade crackers complete with lovely metal stamped Christmas ' keyrings', beautiful greeting of White Friexenet/ raspberries, all 8 courses..totally superb!!! Harry, his family and staff are wonderful! We will return next year!!

Went for Sunday lunch and the service was very good. Staff were attentive and the set menu was good. We were blessed with not the normal vegetables of cauliflower, brocoli, & carrots, but were served brazed red cabbage, mini carrots, cavolo nero, roast potatoes and an enormous Yorkshire pudding. I had roast pork and it could have been cooked a little longer for my taste and also the crispy crackling was not in evidence, a big let down, that one. However, at £14.50 it was very good value, hence the place was packed and they coped well. Hope to try a different day to see what else is available.

This place is a hidden gem. Very polite and friendly staff, delicious food and very affordable prices. The Sunday roast was very good and the setting is lovely. We highly recommend the Black Horse Inn.

Mrs T and I visited the Black Horse Inn to celebrate our third wedding anniversary during Norfolk Restaurant Week; in the main we had a good time.It was a busy Friday night and we had the relatively late booking of just after 8pm. While service was friendly it was also slow to get going and our first course took 45 minutes to arrive. My pork belly was good, albeit somewhat forgettable; the single scallop it came with was the star of the plate. The wife enjoyed her mussels, but we both felt the portion size was a little meager; my half a slice of black pudding and small cube of pork belly gave the impression that it had been cooked by accountants.Mrs T liked her slow cooked beef, albeit the crispy shallots had gone AWOL. My cod and poached egg were largely well cooked, albeit the skin was flaccid, they had kept the skins on the new potato olive oil mash (I know some people like this, but I'm not one of them), the tender stem broccoli had been substituted with spinach and they had been a too light with the curry oil (which would have added some needed depth of flavour). The menu stated that there may be substitutions due to seasonality, but this, again with the slightly stingy amount, took the edge off the experience. My sticky toffee pudding was faultless, however the wife sent her Bailey's cheesecake back because it tasted of lemon and no Bailey's. They dealt with this request well and her replacement brownie was well received, although this light chocolate sponge was no dense gooey brownie. We washed everything down with a bottle of "premium" (there words, not mine) zinfandel, which was okay, but at £24 felt like it was at least £8 overpriced.Almost everything came with a somewhat thoughtless scattering of micro herbs; which surely are the foams of their day. Sadly they were often not well matched with the dishes they accompanied; coriander jarred against pork belly, apple, black pudding and scallop. Lemon balm and chocolate "brownie" were frankly odd bedfellows. This wasn't an out and out bad meal, but it was disappointing. It's easy to be critical, but only where there are mistakes and especially when you're paying £74 for the privilege...
