Food was decent: Asked a waiter for more sauce, waiter told me to tell the manager so I went to ask, upon asking him and walking away my friends told me he rolled his eyes and made a remark about me to another customer. Apart from that experience, overall seems to be poorly run and chaotic. Shame because the food is good.

The food was incredible!!The most delicious meal I've eaten in a restaurant for a long time. It was so good I wanted to go again the next night. The flavour combinations were a delight. It deserved 10 stars!!!

Had the Caribbean mixed grill. The meat was delicious and plentiful. Lots of flavour in the sauces. The chef was really engaging & cheerful. Perfect place for any keen, meat eater.

Soul Cafe is a popular restaurant in the centre of Kings Lynn. It offers a menu which has a British twist as well as some Thai on their Caribbean inspired menu. Don't expect the traditional ackee and saltfish or plantain here. The decor is modern inside but a little dated and worn out in areas such as the toilets and areas leading to here. The waitress was very polite in their manner and attentive to us. The waiter was also friendly. The owner of the establishment appeared to be present and got a bit too close and personal to me and my guests. We found them to be a little abrupt in the way they served us. The location was relatively quiet for a Friday night.Pros:* The customer service received from the waitress and waiter were excellent. They couldn't have done more for us and were very attentive.* This location offers 20% Blue Light Card discount when we asked* The Thai Green Curry was rich in flavour and tasted great.Cons:* We asked for tap water 3 times from the waitress. They failed to bring this after asking.* We had ordered chilli beef as a starter. This never came to the table despite the other 2 starters arriving. Although the waitress was apoolgietic about this, the owner of the restaurant was abrupt about this and told us their error in putting it as a starter on the menu. Even when the owner said they would bring it to our table and not charge us for it, this never happened.* Ordering a Thai Red Curry, they informed us after ordering that they only had Thai Green Curry which was the same. Not strictly true in all circumstances but nevertheless should have been told to us before ordering.* Pricing wise the food is on the dearer side. Drinks are about average for Kings Lynn.* The waitress encouraged us to order a side of rice for £3 extra which was not required as the Thai Green Curry came with it anyway. Upselling in this manner should not be happening as it's contradicting when they stated it does not come with rice.* The goat was nice but had more bones as opposed to meat present on there. Disappointing when major competitors provide a better offering.* Dated toilets. A bit tired interior. Needs some refurbishment.Overall we were disappointed and would be reluctant to visit again. 4/10.

Stumbled across this eaterie and glad I did. They serve both Thai and Caribbean food , favorites of mine.I was divided between curried goat and jerk chicken. The owner, very friendly and amenable, suggested i could have both. Great result for me and very tasty too.Pleasant place, friendly service and accommodating. Nice tasty food. Recommended

Let’s have a nice dinner for my birthday I thought… Came in at 5, doors closed and boss doing back stretches in the middle of the restaurant. Eventually let us in. Got sat in the corner dark as night and freezing with the window right on my back… Food was nothing special either. 2 stars for the waiter.

From first entry Soul Cafe & Restaurant is a fusion of confusion - the nondescript and coldly detached interior has no soul, the menu with Curried Goat, Thai and Moroccan dishes all on the same menu disorientated me - not the typical Caribbean or African restaurant menu.....then the owner Olivier came to confuse me further with his conversation (talking up his culinary talents and achievements) which, along with the decor and menu simply made me feel further alienated......nonetheless, taking Olivier's advice we ordered curried goat whilst, after some discussion, Olivier also offered to create a new dish - but none of it worked - most disappointing was the sticky (Thai) rice - a soggy, congealed mass closely followed in disappointment stakes by the curry goat - which was basically a watery, tangy soup....🤦🏻‍♂️ and tasted more packet jerk seasoning than authenticity (anyone familiar with true Caribbean food would not know this - either texture or taste). After looking forward to the food based on the reviews, ratings and Olivier's talk, the whole experience was all pretty unpleasant but, looking at the website the explanation may be that all authenticity has been desecrated and diluted out to accord with the British tastes of "British-Caribbean Fusion" 😫 and disappointingly also fell far short of Oliver's swag......if you are looking for authentic food it's not here.(Went to Nandos the next night!)

Super lovely staff and relaxed vibe at the Soul Café. The seabass was incredible and the mixed grill was huge! Sweet potato fries and tortilla chips are freshly cooked and perfect.Lovely outside terrace and covered patio to the rear and a massive spice inside to cater for everyone. Great mocktails. Popular with locals and visitors alike
