Nice stop off after visiting Wells. Arrived after a really busy day as the weather had been lovely so was surprised everything was still available on the menu. Enjoyed one of their chicken burgers with homemade onion rings and coleslaw which was good value for money. A good place to watch the sun go down.

We were served very nice food by friendly efficient waiters, nice lagers in the restaurant. Our latest visit Easter 2022 finds an excellent menu and exceptional food and quite quick delivery. A lovely option of Ghost Ship bitter beer and lagers available have used twice this holiday so far.

Nice country style pub, with a great view of the beach. Staff were friendly and chatty. Everything was OK, food was decent, only complaint ordered a medium steak but came very well done, rest of the plate was good grub. Wide selection of drinks. A good place to visit if you're having some time away in hunstanton.

We ate at The Ancient Marriner last evening, What a disappointment, before lockdown we were regular eaters here, Oh my goodness what a change. The Vegetable Lasange was slimy, clearly microwaved, cod moray was tasteless and the new potatoes were definitely not new, the peas looked like something my grandmother would get out of a tin. The young lady who served us was not welcoming, they used to have such friendly staff. The toilets were disgusting, the paper towel bin was overflowing, no soap in the dispenser, the toilets didn’t flush properly, all this was at 19.00 hours, so god knows what it was like later on. So so disappointed, are they under new management or what ??After getting in touch with management at the Marriners, we were invited back for a complimentary meal, it was just perfect, staff were welcoming on our arrival, prawn cocktails were fresh, staff were very attentive throughout steak was cooked to perfection, gammon was lovely, we have had our faith restored in the marriners. Although I didn’t use the toilets I was assured the problems had been fixed, so thank you Tanya.

Nice friendly pub with good views. (I imagine they would be even better in summer on the decking!)Food was okay, somewhat pricey for what it was, but still tasty.Standard choices of drink.Covid standards were good, food was left on the table for us to take ourselves, same goes for the drinks. The waiter looked after us from a social distance.

Brilliant Venue, Pub and Restaurant.Food is well prepared with plenty of choice and Day Time Specials. I can personally recommend the Gray Fish & Prawns (ÂŁ14.95), 10oz Gammon (ÂŁ16.95), and Chicken & Bacon Burger (ÂŁ14.95). The Steak Pie is good (ÂŁ13.50) but the Mash Potato is slightly over buttered.Generally the menu pricing is slightly high, but then this venue and views can attract such food prices.Drinks are also slightly pricey hence the 4 star review. There are offers for 50% off coupons if you look out for them in local leaflets / newspapers.Beach is a 10 mins walk from this pub.Staff are very polite and helpful.

We had a reasonable meal at the Ancient Mariner, but a few things stop it getting 5 stars... there was a queue at the bar with only 1 person serving despite lots of other staff mulling about... seemed a bit lapse in cleaning up tables, whilst in queue I heard at least 2 people ask for some wipes to wipe down their own table and the cost of a kids meal was way too high...! (ÂŁ7!!)We sat outside which was nice and the food was actually quite tasty so that was good! (We had chilli dog, prawn and salmon salad, and kids fish fingers and chips).
