Great (unexpectedly good) food recent redecoration

We went yesterday evening 11.4.2021. The food was lovely, tasted great, looked wonderful, all 4 meals hot. Service was brilliant, friendly and attentive without being pushy. Not a cheap meal but worth what we paid. Quite a 'fishy' weighted menu. Would definitely recommend and will return ourselves.

Food was nice, not amazing as I've read and expected. Due to shortages of staff we were over an hour before getting the starter.We received lots of apologies for the delay but then on receiving our meal my husband didn't receive half of his meal!! The mushroom and chips which were a large part.Mistakes happen but after the wait I didn't appreciate the waitress telling us that if you add the lobster on your meal she didn't think you got all the steak dinner!!! WHAT !!We're not likely to return I'm afraid 😔

Good food .. disappointed at the Very expensive drinks..£5 for a small bottle of coke.!!!

Great food, service not too great, they appear to double book? It all feels a little frought when you arrive but the food is good and very reasonably priced for a Sunday lunch

Please don't take notice for the bad reviews, me and my family visited here on sunday 23rd, this place really surprised me, the food blew my taste buds away really didn't expect it, the staff are super friendly, happy to help and so polite, they also can have a little joke, yeah the place was busy witch is a good sign and we had to wait for food but it was well worth the wait, I have to say I was stuffed and couldn't have eaten anymore, if we are ever back that way we will 100% be dropping in again, lovely place

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast. Amazing value for money and exceptional quality. We had a family meal here recently and we're bowled over. If I was to offer any constructive feedback, like many pubs due to the lack of soft furnishings it is quite noisy when busy, but this would not stop us returning which we fully intend to do!!

We visited the angel for the first time today for lunch, & was not disappointed, the atmosphere was great!We was greeted by Lauren in front house, who also served us throughout our stay, and was a real sweetheart, plus a credit to the establishment, as well as being very polite, friendly and very professionalthroughout, so thank you very much Lauren!!The food was absolutely gorgeous, so compliments to the chef!We will definitely be returning back to the Angel, and next time with friends.We would definitely recommend!!!Well done to all at the Angel in Watlington, we are very happy customers.👌🥂😂
