I ate here a couple of months ago in the bar and chose from the main restaurant menu, it was proper food cooked by a proper chef. Great quality and cooked fresh. I returned tonight and there is now a different menu for the bar (restaurant menu not allowed), it was awful. I travel all over the UK for work and haven't been that disappointed with a meal in a long while.

Due to a booking mix-up elsewhere, our group of eight had to book last minute into the Rathskeller and it turned out to be the highlight of the day. Food & service we're both outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

The standard of the food and service were very poor. Had a meal here a few years ago, and it was great, but unfortunately no longer the case.

Terrible food. Celebrating a friends birthday felt sorry for her. Everyone was moaning about the food

Fantastic visit to The Rathskeller for dinner. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. We finished our meal with the panna cotta which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Worth the visit, highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic meal on Saturday night. The restaurant was packed but as a couple we were not forgotten and the service was excellent. Cant wait to visit again. The food was excellent and delicious.

Very limited on choice of beers, although probably more of a cocktail and spirits place Good music and large outdoor space. Unfortunately, no photos on this visit.

Look at our meals and you will know how wonderful dinner we have. Delicious food, lovely staff and our favourite drink are always English Cider. Splendid atmosphere outside to sit under the sun and enjoy the view of Ouse river!

We had a wonderful evening at The Rathskeller. The staff we friendly and attentive and the food was superb! The seafood platter for two was tasty and generous. The lamb rump was so tender it melted in my mouth. The salmon was delicious and our two desserts were the perfect way to cap off a lovely evening.
