The restaurant took booking for my birthday. When we reached there, it was closed and nobody received the call. How embarrassing! Ruined my Birthday plans. Below 1 star they deserve for such behaviour

Lovely atmosphere. Sheesha was very nice and smooth and full of flavour. Mint tea was lush. Staff very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Not sure if new management but its not great anymore. Junior and inexperienced staff. Absolutely freezing venue. Food was ok but slow to come out. Had to ask for salt and pepper. Staff went out to buy drink cans for customers. Cutlery was not clean. Maybe I will stick to deliveroo/justeat orders. Shame really as this used to be a fantastic place to enjoy Arabic food.

Ok so been here for years and loved a halal place, then stopped due to lockdown. Went Friday night and it was empty. Not a good sign. Ordered food and shisha and drinks and tea.Food was different from before but still really nice. Shisha was OK. Tea was horrible and arrived after 30mins of ordering. Prices have gone up quite a bit.The service and standards have dropped. Considering place was empty service should have been great but no. Food plates weren't taken after we ate and we there till we left. No music no nothing. We were disappointed. Asked staff if it was new ownership. And yes it is. Explains alot.Won't be going back again. Wife was not happy.

So this place is a hit or miss.Sometimes they're so amazing i have no words, but sometimes its a slow day. But the good news here is that, 88% of the time they're a hit!My normal order would be the Lamb Kabsah, Lamb ribs with chips or Chicken Maglobeh, the lamb kabsah is a massive lamb shank that is boiled in seasoning served with either Arabic rice (rice with little noodle strands cinnamon and cardamom) or Kabsah rice which is rice mixed with seasoning and root vegetables. The miss part is due to the shisha lounge, not many good flavours and truth be told the waiters and waitresses cannot really make the flavours properly. But the food makes up for the lack in the shisha department.Overall a good visit with good food and decor. Would recommend food but not shisha.

A massive thank you to all the staff at Desert Rose for helping us with my mums 50th Birthday surprise. Everyone was extremely helpful from easy booking, affordable pricing and a lovely private room upstairs which caters for 30 people. My mum was really happy and everyone enjoyed themselves. We couldn't be more pleased with the service, delicious food and how helpful the staff were with setting up the room and clearing up at the end. We will definitely be recommending and returning ourselves. Thank you again.

Absolutely banging food! I'm no expert, not been to the region or anything, but when you drop in on a random Saturday afternoon and get served delicious food it's obvious a restaurant knows what it's doing. We ordered a mix of cold and hot starters and some calamari. The hummus is epic and the bread fresh and served warm and soft. The mix of hot vegetable starters were well cooked and all tasted great, especially the couscous balls. The halloumi was perfect: soft, well cooked and seasoned. The vine leaves even tasted fresh and were filled with some flavoursome rice. The calamari were better than expected (so far from any form of ocean) and cooked to perfection. All in all I'd go back again confident in a great meal. The restaurant itself is very comfortable and the service is attentive and friendly. Prices are very fair. A definite must visit!

Lovely food, really tasty and flavoursome. Good sized portions. friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and feel. But not a lot of room inside to dine in.

Wow. What a gem. Genuine Middle Eastern restaurant. Inviting menu, delicious food. Couscous like my mother in law's. Good prices and generous portions - too generous for me - I over ordered!Friendly, polite & efficient staff.Wish we had the same in Sussex.Note: Cash only.Try it. Bon appetit!

Lovely restaurant and good prices. Had chicken steak with Arabic Rice. Was absolutely delicious. Big menu with lots of choice and large selection of desserts. Just to note they do not serve alcohol but it's not a problem.
