Visited with hubby & dog for a lunch. Staff are very hospitable & really dog friendly, could actually eat inside the pub. On entering our young dog was given a gravy bone even before we were served with our drinks. In the secure garden there is plenty of water bowls & as the garden was empty he had a run off lead to use up some energy as he had been in the car for quite a while. Our meal, mine ham off the bone, double egg & chips, hubby's steak & stilton pies with mash & veg were both hot & very nice. The chips were especially tasty, seasoned & cooked in their skins. As it was late afternoon & were out longer than intended we didn't have anything for our dog so asked if they could cook him a poached egg which he loves. They were very obliging & did so he had egg, broccoli & carrot. All in all a very successful first. Visit & will definitely come again.

The place is beautiful, spaced out so you don't feel on top of each other and staff were really friendly and nice. However, our table had 5 beef roasts and one roast chicken. Beef roasts were a hit apart from the gravy wasn't the consistency and flavour you expect of gravy which was a disappointment to all.The chicken roast was again covered in this sauce that wasn't quite gravy, and came with mash that wasn't very flavourful. Would go back again and try other meals as I'd like to see how they compare. But would not go for a Dunday roast again. But as I said before, lovely scenic place and staff were great.

The place looks great after refurbishment - both the original section and the new build - but my wife and I were a little disappointed by the experience. Service was very slow, the food was OK but nothing special, the price was too high. We were just on a one-off visit anyway ... but I hope the regulars have a better experience than we did.

We had a fantastic Valentines break here. The room was super clean, bright and spacious. The food was superb, really delicious and with beautiful presentation. Great breakfast and tasty Sunday roast. Will definately stay again and have since returned for Sunday roast. This is an absolute gem by the river, with lovely walks along the sea wall.

A very sympathetic restoration and adding high quality buildings. Huge well appointed outside drinking/dining area, car park, courtyard and accomodation. Friendly efficient service with mid range prices. Well worth a visit.

First time of visiting. Had lovely meal with excellent service in a friendly atmosphere. Have booked for a large family gathering later in year as it also allows dogs in designated areas.

Recently revisited this pub (deleted my old review as it isn't relevant anymore) - it's been recently refurbished and what a difference! Lovely contemporary open beamed restaurant. Excellent food (with lots of veggie + vegan options). Great beer, and lots of outside seating for the summer.

We were on a weekend cycling trip and stayed at the Ferry Boat Inn on the Saturday night. Our room was super clean and modern with a fantastic shower and very comfy bed. We had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed a brilliant meal - the food was lovely and service excellent. What really made it though was the warm welcome we received and the friendliness of all the staff - thank you!!!

We had our Classic Car Club Christmas dinner for 22 of us here today. The staff were lovely & very accommodating right from when we booked the reservation with Rowan a few months ago & then onwards with all staff who helped make an excellent afternoon. The food was outstanding, plentiful & of a high standard. We can highly recommend this place & will be returning soon.
